Microplastics from Wearable Bioelectronic Devices: Sources, Risks, and Sustainable Solutions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Bioelectronic devices (e.g., e‐skins) heavily rely on polymers that at the end of their life cycle will generate microplastics. For research, a holistic approach to viewing the full impact of such devices cannot be overlooked. The potential for devices as sources for microplastics is raised, with mitigation strategies surrounding polysaccharide and ...

Digital Discovery of Synthesizable Metal−Organic Frameworks via Molecular Dynamics‑Informed, High‑Fidelity Deep Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Tabular foundation model interrogates the synthetic likelihood of metal−organic frameworks. Abstract Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are celebrated for their chemical and structural versatility, and in‑silico screening has significantly accelerated their discovery; yet most hypothetical MOFs (hMOFs) never reach the bench because their synthetic ...

TREE: Tree Regularization for Efficient Execution

open access: yes
The rise of machine learning methods on heavily resource constrained devices requires not only the choice of a suitable model architecture for the target platform, but also the optimization of the chosen model with regard to execution time consumption for inference in order to optimally utilize the available resources. Random forests and decision trees

Synchronized Electro‐Chromo‐Emissive Devices Using a Mixed Ionic‐Electronic Conductive Layer for XR Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A single cell type Electro‐chromo‐emissive (ECECL) device integrating synchronized electrochromic (EC) and electrochemiluminescent (ECL) functions is developed using a mixed ionic‐electronic conductor (MIEC). A MIEC layer reduces ionic/electronic resistance, enabling ultrafast switching and enhanced optical contrast.
