CANOPY LIDAR POINT CLOUD DATA K-MEANS CLUSTERING WATERSHED SEGMENTATION METHOD [PDF]
Airborne laser LiDAR has widely applied in the accurate extraction of single tree canopy for inventory of precision forestry. Due to the over-segmentation phenomenon occurring in the traditional watershed single-wood segmentation, this paper presents a ...

CROWN-LEVEL TREE SPECIES CLASSIFICATION USING INTEGRATED AIRBORNE HYPERSPECTRAL AND LIDAR REMOTE SENSING DATA [PDF]
Mapping tree species is essential for sustainable planning as well as to improve our understanding of the role of different trees as different ecological service. However, crown-level tree species automatic classification is a challenging task due to the

Living on the edge: Habitat characteristics of northern myotis at the periphery of its distribution
Northern myotis selected tall trees with minimal decay, in patches with other roosting options. In our study area, these trees occurred in narrow bands within an agricultural matrix, differing from contiguous forest at the core of the species' distribution. Nevertheless, bats selected the tallest trees in the densest patches available.

Abstract Depictions of rewilded landscapes reveal the underlying principles shaping the future of rewilding. This paper analyses a virtual reality (VR) model of a rewilding project in the Scottish Highlands that is advertised as a vision of a rewilded nature in 50 to 100 years' time.
