Trefftz methods with evanescent plane waves
Classical Trefftz methods approximate Helmholtz solutions using propagative plane waves and are subject to strong numerical instabilities. Evanescent plane wave bases can substantially mitigate this phenomenon. We propose a simple recipe to select such basis functions.
