Trellis coding for spatial modulation
2011 IEEE 19th Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2011In this study, by combining trellis coding with spatial modulation (SM), a new multiple-input multiple output (MIMO) communication scheme called trellis coded spatial modulation (TC-SM) is proposed. For uncorrelated Rayleigh fading channels, code design criteria are given by deriving pairwise error probability (PEP) of this system, in which a trellis ...

On trellis modules for convolutional codes
Proceedings IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory,, 2003We consider trellis modules for convo- lutional codes based on time-varying codes. I. EXTENDED SUMMARY Let C denote a convolutional code over GF(2), with block length n, k information bits and overall memory U (where v is the smallest integer such that C has an encoder requiring only U delay units), and free distance d.

Turbo trellis-coded spatial modulation
2012 IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM), 2012In this paper, a turbo trellis-coded spatial modulation (TTCSM) transmission scheme is proposed. In trellis-coded spatial modulation (TCSM) scheme, the information bits used to select the transmit antenna index are encoded. In order to increase the performances of the TCSM scheme, a parallel concatenated encoding scheme can be used. Therefore, the TCSM

Combination of block-coded modulation and trellis-coded modulation
IEE Proceedings I Communications, Speech and Vision, 1991It is known that trellis-coded modulation (TCM) can give a significant coding gain without compromising bandwidth efficiency, by the concepts of signal set partition and trellis coding scheme. It is also known that block-coded modulation (BCM) can be used to approach closely the maximum energy saving that can be obtained by using the densest lattice ...

Phase ambiguity resolution in trellis-coded modulations
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1990A rotation detection algorithm for solving the phase ambiguity problem in trellis-coded modulations is proposed. This algorithm is simple to implement and may be an efficient alternative to rotationally invariant codes. Its performance has been investigated by simulation and appears promising. >

Turbo coding applied to pragmatic trellis-coded modulation
IEEE Communications Letters, 2000This letter reports the application of the powerful turbo coding technique combined with the bandwidth efficient method known as trellis-coded modulation (TCM). Implemented as a simple modification of pragmatic TCM, our turbo-coded pragmatic TCM system achieved coding gains of 1-2 dB in simulations relative to pragmatic TCM.

The performance of trellis-coded modulation
TENCON'92 - Technology Enabling Tomorrow, 2003Trellis-coded modulation (TCM) in an 8-PSK (phase shift keying) scheme is more power efficient than uncoded QPSK at the same spectral efficiency on perfect coherent detection. For the same signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of phase reference, the sensitivity to phase offset for 8-PSK is more serious than for uncoded QPSK.
