Parasites as indicators of biodiversity and habitat complexity in coastal ecosystems
Researchers often use surrogate species for assessing biodiversity—organisms that can indicate the presence of additional taxa or provide insight into environmental processes.

Free‐ranging rhesus macaques at Kathmandu's UNESCO heritage sites exhibit a 77.1% prevalence of potentially zoonotic gastrointestinal parasites. These findings highlight significant environmental contamination and a shared exposure risk, emphasizing the critical need for integrated One Health management strategies at the urban human‐wildlife interface.

Some Digenetic Trematodes from Deep-Water Fish of Tortugas, Florida [PDF]
Introduction (first two paragraphs) The parasitic fauna of ocean depths is practically unknown. Although an extensive fish population occurs at all depths, very little study has yet been made on the helminths of these fish.

Key to Trematodes Reported in Waterfowl [PDF]
This key is the second in a series for identification of the helminths reported in waterfowl (Family Anatidae, Order Anseriformes). The first was a key to nematodes (McDonald 1974).

The Biology Of Selected Freshwater Monogenectic Trematodes [PDF]
The taxonomic history of monogenetic trematodes was begun by Rudolphi who, in 1808, was responsible for the order Trematodes. Van Beneden proposed the term monogeneses for trematodes which developed with metamorphosis and Digneses for those which ...
