This study investigates the impact of horizontal directional drilling (HDD) technology on the vertical surface deformations of airport runways, specifically in the context of airport lighting system renovations. Taking Guanghan Airport (China) as a case study, the research combines field experiments with finite element numerical simulations to analyze ...

Ground‐borne vibrations are a frequent source of environmental problems. A full‐scale experiment is conducted to validate a 3D numerical model in order to analyze the efficiency of three methods of isolation. Trench barriers and wave‐impeding blocks are impractical and expensive methods of isolation, but mass scatters appear to be an efficient ...

Effects of Subsurface Water Infiltration Systems on Groundwater Table Dynamics in Drained Peat Soils
The effects of subsurface water infiltration systems on groundwater table dynamics are captured in six hydrologically relevant parameters for five sites. Water infiltration systems, if applied correctly, reduce the amplitude in groundwater table fluctuations, most notably by raising water tables during dry periods.

Evaluation of testing methods for tracking CIPP liners’ life-cycle performance
Despite the significant investments made in the use of cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) rehabilitation technologies, quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) practices can vary widely among municipalities, and CIPP liner evaluations are mostly ...

Wastewater pipe defect rating model for pipe maintenance using natural language processing
IntroductionClosed-circuit video (CCTV) inspection has been the most popular technique for visually evaluating the interior status of pipelines in recent decades. Certified inspectors prepare the pipe repair document based on the CCTV inspection.

To investigate the effects of water‐solid ratio, ash ratio, and fly ash to cement ratio (F/C) on the flow, water secretion rate, and compressive strength of controlled low‐strength materials based on urban pipe jacking waste soil. ABSTRACT As a byproduct of urban pipeline network construction, pipe jacking waste soil exhibits characteristics of massive
