Pipeline walls hydrophobic properties study and their protective coatings used in trenchless technologies

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2016
The results of field and theoretical studies to determine the degree of hydrophobicity of the inner pipe walls in static and dynamic conditions are reported. The water drops spreading nature in contact with the horizontal and concave surface of different

Effects of Subsurface Water Infiltration Systems on Groundwater Table Dynamics in Drained Peat Soils

open access: yesHydrological Processes, Volume 39, Issue 12, December 2025.
The effects of subsurface water infiltration systems on groundwater table dynamics are captured in six hydrologically relevant parameters for five sites. Water infiltration systems, if applied correctly, reduce the amplitude in groundwater table fluctuations, most notably by raising water tables during dry periods.

DETERMINING SOIL REACTIONS AND THE VALUE OF DEVIATION FROM A LINEAR TRAJECTORY OF ASYMMETRICAL SOIL THRUST WORKING BODY [PDF]

open access: yesAvtomobilʹnyj Transport (Harʹkov), 2017
The construction of underground communications in urban conditions is very difficult due to the large number of existing communications. Thus, it is necessary to change the trajectory of the horizontal well during soil thrust boring. An analytical method

Experimental Study on the Properties of Controlled Low‐Strength Materials Prepared by Pipe Jacking Slag

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 7, Issue 9, September 2025.
To investigate the effects of water‐solid ratio, ash ratio, and fly ash to cement ratio (F/C) on the flow, water secretion rate, and compressive strength of controlled low‐strength materials based on urban pipe jacking waste soil. ABSTRACT As a byproduct of urban pipeline network construction, pipe jacking waste soil exhibits characteristics of massive

Improving the Accuracy of Flood Damage Assessments to Residential Structures via the Use of Experimental Data

open access: yesJournal of Flood Risk Management, Volume 18, Issue 1, March 2025.
ABSTRACT The current practice of flood loss prediction presents limitations in accurately predicting building flood losses at multiple scales. While whole‐building estimates can more accurately predict high‐level losses (i.e., large groups of buildings), a significant analysis error is revealed with small‐scale (i.e., individual, or small groups of ...

Case Study of Trenchless Technology Around The Globe

open access: yesInternational Journal for Research in Applied Science and Engineering Technology, 2022
Abstract: Trenchless technology is the science of installing, repairing and renewing underground constructions, pipes, and cables that minimize the use of open-cut excavation methods. The use of traditional construction techniques, preferably open-cut construction are being used less because of innovation in trenchless methods. These methods reduce the

A Calculation Model of Cutterhead Resistance for Pipe Jacking in Rock Strata and Soil–Rock Composite Strata

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2025.
This article investigates the calculation method of headrace resistance for pipe jacking in rocky and soil–rock composite strata, and the calculation method is certified to be feasible by examples. ABSTRACT Jacking force is one of the most important parameters in the design and construction of pipe jacking engineering, and cutterhead resistance is an ...
