Deep Sequencing of FLT3‐ITD Enables Response Evaluation and Post‐Treatment Monitoring in Childhood AML: An Exploratory Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background An internal tandem duplication in the gene encoding Fms‐like tyrosine kinase 3 (FLT3‐ITD) is associated with high relapse risk and poor prognosis in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and plays a crucial role in treatment decisions. Measurable residual disease (MRD) analysis of FLT3‐ITD during and after treatment has shown prognostic ...

Feasibility Randomised Trial Comparing Two Forms of Mental Health Supported Accommodation (Supported Housing and Floating Outreach); a Component of the QuEST (Quality and Effectiveness of Supported Tenancies) Study

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychiatry, 2019
Background: Mental health supported accommodation services are implemented across England, usually organised into a ‘step-down’ care pathway that requires the individual to repeatedly move as they gain skills and confidence for more independent living ...

Prognostic Effect of Microenvironment Phenotype in Triple-Negative Breast Cancer: Biomarker Analysis of a Prospective Trial

open access: yesFrontiers in Molecular Biosciences, 2021
Background: The microenvironment of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) can be divided into three clusters based on bioinformatics-based immunogenomic analysis: the “immune-desert” cluster, the “innate immune-inactivated” cluster, and the “immune ...

Claudin‐6 Protein Expression in Atypical Teratoid/Rhabdoid Tumors Is Strongly Enriched in the Molecular Subgroup AT/RT‐TYR

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Claudin‐6 has emerged as a promising immunotherapeutic target, yet protein‐level data in atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumors (AT/RTs) have been inconsistent. We analyzed 36 well‐characterized AT/RT samples and found membranous claudin‐6 protein expression in 58% of cases, with striking enrichment in the molecular subgroup AT/RT‐TYR (100%) and ...

A trial of CT1341

open access: yesBritish Journal of Anaesthesia, 1971
SUMMARY CT1341 is a mixture of two steroids which on intravenous injection produces clinical anaesthesia in one arm-brain circulation time. It was used as the sole anaesthetic agent (in single or repeated dosage) in 109 patients undergoing a variety of procedures. In a further 44 patients CT1341 was supplemented with nitrous oxide and oxygen.

Time Toxicity in Wilms Tumor: Quantifying the Burden of Healthcare Interaction in the First Year After Diagnosis

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Wilms tumor (WT) treatment imposes a significant time burden on patients and their families. Time toxicity is a patient‐centered metric that quantifies the burden of healthcare interaction. We sought to define time toxicity in the first year after diagnosis of WT and hypothesized that it would increase as tumor stage and treatment ...

Heterogeneity in the Global Practice of Central Nervous System Staging in Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Central nervous system (CNS) involvement in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is assessed by cell counting and cytomorphology from cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and is used for treatment stratification worldwide. The ratio of “CNS2” patients in clinical trials ranges from 3% to 40%, with unclear prognostic significance ...

Emapalumab for Immune Effector Cell‐Associated Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis‐Like Syndrome Following CD19‐Directed CAR‐T in Two Patients With B‐ALL: Clinical and Biomarker Correlates

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Immune effector cell‐associated hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis‐like syndrome (IEC‐HS) is a life‐threatening hyperinflammatory toxicity distinct from cytokine release syndrome (CRS) and neurotoxicity following chimeric antigen receptor T‐cell (CAR‐T) therapy. In a single‐institution retrospective cohort of pediatric and young adult patients

Text messaging and financial incentives to encourage weight loss in men with obesity: the Game of Stones feasibility RCT

open access: yesPublic Health Research, 2020
Background: In 2016, 26% of UK men were estimated to be obese. Systematic reviews suggest that few men engage in formal weight loss interventions that support weight reduction and improve health.
