Adaptive content-aware correction for wide-angle portrait photos

open access: yesComputational Visual Media
Portraits near the periphery of wide-angle photos often suffer conspicuous distortions. With the popularity of wide-angle lenses on mobile phones, portrait correction, which removes portrait distortion in wide-angle photos, has attracted widespread ...

An ANN-based advancing double-front method for automatic isotropic triangle generation

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
The advancing front method (AFM) is one of the widely used unstructured grid generation techniques. However, the efficiency is relatively low because only one cell is generated in the advancing procedure.

Dynamically refining animated triangle meshes for rendering [PDF]

open access: yesThe Visual Computer, 2003
We present a method to dynamically apply local refinements to an irregular triangle mesh as it deforms in real time. The method increases surface smoothness in regions of high deformation by splitting triangles in a fashion similar to one or two steps of Loop subdivision.

ℓ_1-Based Construction of Polycube Maps from Complex Shapes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Polycube maps of triangle meshes have proved useful in a wide range of applications, including texture mapping and hexahedral mesh generation. However, constructing either fully automatically or with limited user control a low-distortion polycube from a ...

Multiband Switchable Microwave Absorbing Metamaterials Based on Reconfigurable Kirigami–Origami

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A reconfigurable metamaterial featuring tunable microwave‐absorbing and load‐bearing performance is proposed. Stretchable kirigami and bistable origami configurations are integrated as actuating components, and the synergistic deformation mechanisms are systematically analyzed.

A tetrahedral space-filling curve for non-conforming adaptive meshes

open access: yes, 2016
We introduce a space-filling curve for triangular and tetrahedral red-refinement that can be computed using bitwise interleaving operations similar to the well-known Z-order or Morton curve for cubical meshes.

A Smart Bio‐Battery Facilitates Diabetic Bone Defect Repair Via Inducing Macrophage Reprogramming and Synergistically Modulating Bone Remodeling Coupling

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This research presents a novel implantable bio‐battery, GF‐OsG, tailored for diabetic bone repair. GF‐OsG generates microcurrents in high‐glucose conditions to enhance vascularization, shift macrophages to the M2 phenotype, and regulate immune responses.

Surface Optimal Path Planning Using an Extended Dijkstra Algorithm

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Extensive studies have been conducted on the Dijkstra algorithm owing to its bright prospect. However, few of them have studied the surface path planning of mobile robots.

Density-equalizing maps for simply-connected open surfaces

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper, we are concerned with the problem of creating flattening maps of simply-connected open surfaces in $\mathbb{R}^3$. Using a natural principle of density diffusion in physics, we propose an effective algorithm for computing density ...
