Elastic Correspondence between Triangle Meshes
AbstractWe propose a novel approach for shape matching between triangular meshes that, in contrast to existing methods, can match crease features. Our approach is based on a hybrid optimization scheme, that solves simultaneously for an elastic deformation of the source and its projection on the target.

Merging enriched Finite Element triangle meshes for fast prototyping of alternate solutions in the context of industrial maintenance [PDF]
A new approach to the merging of Finite Element (FE) triangle meshes is proposed. Not only it takes into account the geometric aspects, but it also considers the way the semantic information possibly associated to the groups of entities (nodes, faces ...

Simplifying Triangle Meshes in the Wild [PDF]
This paper introduces a fast and robust method for simplifying surface triangle meshes in the wild while maintaining high visual quality. While previous methods achieve excellent results on manifold meshes by using the quadric error metric, they suffer from producing high-quality outputs for user-created meshes, which often contain non-manifold ...

A perceptual quality metric for dynamic triangle meshes
A measure for assessing the quality of a 3D mesh is necessary in order to determine whether an operation on the mesh, such as watermarking or compression, affects the perceived quality. The studies on this field are limited when compared to the studies for 2D.

VOXEL-BASED INDOOR RECONSTRUCTION FROM HOLOLENS TRIANGLE MESHES [PDF]
Current mobile augmented reality devices are often equipped with range sensors. The Microsoft HoloLens for instance is equipped with a Time-of-Flight (ToF) range camera providing coarse triangle meshes that can be used in custom applications.

Sharp Feature-Preserving 3D Mesh Reconstruction from Point Clouds Based on Primitive Detection
High-fidelity mesh reconstruction from point clouds has long been a fundamental research topic in computer vision and computer graphics. Traditional methods require dense triangle meshes to achieve high fidelity, but excessively dense triangles may lead ...

SEMANTIC URBAN MESH ENHANCEMENT UTILIZING A HYBRID MODEL [PDF]
We propose a feature-based approach for semantic mesh segmentation in an urban scenario using real-world training data. There are only few works that deal with semantic interpretation of urban triangle meshes so far.
