SEMANTIC URBAN MESH ENHANCEMENT UTILIZING A HYBRID MODEL [PDF]
We propose a feature-based approach for semantic mesh segmentation in an urban scenario using real-world training data. There are only few works that deal with semantic interpretation of urban triangle meshes so far.

The Shortest-Edge Duplication of Triangles
We introduce a new triangle transformation, the shortest-edge (SE) duplication, as a natural way of mesh derefinement suitable to those meshes obtained by iterative application of longest-edge bisection refinement. Metric properties of the SE duplication

Constructing hierarchies for triangle meshes [PDF]
We present a method to produce a hierarchy of triangle meshes that can be used to blend different levels of detail in a smooth fashion. The algorithm produces a sequence of meshes M/sub 0/, M/sub 1/, M/sub 2/..., M/sub n/, where each mesh M/sub i/ can be transformed to mesh M/sub i+1/ through a set of triangle-collapse operations.

Random-Accessible Compressed Triangle Meshes [PDF]
With the exponential growth in size of geometric data, it is becoming increasingly important to make effective use of multilevel caches, limited disk storage, and bandwidth. As a result, recent work in the visualization community has focused either on designing sequential access compression schemes or on producing cache-coherent layouts of ...

Theoretical Treatment of Limitations Inherent in Simple 3D Stimuli: Triangles and the P3P Problem
Understanding the visual stimulus in a psychophysical experiment, theoretically, is critical for controlling the experiment, for interpreting the empirical results of the experiment, and for discussing the mechanisms the visual system used to get these ...

Decimation of triangle meshes [PDF]
The polygon remains a popular graphics primitive for computer graphics application. Besides having a simple representation, computer rendering of polygons is widely supported by commercial graphics hardware and software. However, because the polygon is linear, often thousands or millions of primitives are required to capture the details of complex ...

OceanMesh2D 1.0: MATLAB-based software for two-dimensional unstructured mesh generation in coastal ocean modeling [PDF]
OceanMesh2D is a set of MATLAB functions with preprocessing and post-processing utilities to generate two-dimensional (2-D) unstructured meshes for coastal ocean circulation models.

THE EFFECT OF SCREEN WALL ON FLOW ENERGY DISSIPATION: A REVIEW [PDF]
Several studies indicate that using hydraulic structure results in some adverse effects that affect the stability of these structures, including scouring the floor.

Developability of triangle meshes [PDF]
Developable surfaces are those that can be made by smoothly bending flat pieces without stretching or shearing. We introduce a definition of developability for triangle meshes which exactly captures two key properties of smooth developable surfaces, namely flattenability and presence of straight ruling lines.

Analytic Form Fitting in Poor Triangular Meshes
Fitting of analytic forms to point or triangle sets is central to computer-aided design, manufacturing, reverse engineering, dimensional control, etc. The existing approaches for this fitting assume an input of statistically strong point or triangle sets.
