Capacitance Measurements for Evaluating Electrochemical Double‐Layer Models and Potentials of Zero Charge: A Reassessment

open access: yesChemPhysChem, EarlyView.
The electrochemical currents of oxide formation, hydrogen evolution reaction, and oxygen reduction reaction are shown to affect the potential dependencies of measured capacitances. Based on these findings, the routine approach of evaluating models for the electrochemical double layer and determining potentials of zero charge by capacitance measurements

Epitaxy and Topotaxy in the Aragonite‐Calcite Polymorphism

open access: yesCrystal Research and Technology, EarlyView.
At first distinguish epitaxy from topotaxy, which rule the main mechanisms of calcite‐aragonite transitions. Then, attempt to move from qualitative to quantitative descriptions of these transitions. Hence, it will deal with 2D (epitaxy) and 3D (topotaxy) conversions in the polymorphic system, in order to gain insight on their differences.

A droplet splitter: Simple, controlled and efficient droplet splitting using superhydrophobic pyramid structures

open access: yesDroplet, EarlyView.
The pyramidal sharp edges act as “fluidic blades” to split droplets through the synergistic interaction of edge‐induced capillary forces and inertial forces generated at the liquid film periphery during spreading dynamics. Controlled splitting of droplets can be achieved by utilizing different superhydrophobic pyramidal structures.

Seismic performance of concrete tunnel–sand–pile interaction by the shake table test

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
This research presents the square root sum of squares response of displacements and tunnel moments under the Kobe and Loma Prieta seismic excitations with a peak ground acceleration of 0.05 g for various dry relative densities of local sand in Bangladesh.
