The Role of Dice in the Emergence of the Probability Calculus
Summary The early development of the probability calculus was clearly influenced by the roll of dice. However, while dice have been cast since time immemorial, documented calculations on the frequency of various dice throws date back only to the mid‐13th century.

Understanding the interaction of real- and reciprocal space topology in skyrmion crystals is an open problem. We approach it from the viewpoint of $C^\ast$-algebras and calculate all admissible Chern numbers of a strongly coupled tight-binding skyrmion ...

A Note on Local Polynomial Regression for Time Series in Banach Spaces
ABSTRACT This work extends local polynomial regression to Banach space‐valued time series for estimating smoothly varying means and their derivatives in non‐stationary data. The asymptotic properties of both the standard and bias‐reduced Jackknife estimators are analyzed under mild moment conditions, establishing their convergence rates.

In the present paper, we define the minimum degree of polynomials. By using the minimum degree of polynomials and Zariski topology, we give a complete description of the images of polynomials with zero constant term on strictly upper triangular matrix ...

Lie triple derivations of triangular algebras
Let R be a commutative ring with identity, A,B be unital algebras over R and M be a unital (A,B)-bimodule, which is faithful as a left A-module and also as a right B-module. Let T=AM0B be the triangular algebra consisting of A,B and M.

Robust Estimation and Inference for Time‐Varying Unconditional Volatility
ABSTRACT We derive a general and robust estimator of a large class of parametric specifications of time‐varying unconditional volatility of financial returns, both univariate and multivariate, and establish the Consistency and Asymptotic Normality (CAN) of the estimator.

Fuzzy Sets in Strong Sheffer Stroke NMV-Algebra with Respect to a Triangular Norm
In this paper, we explore the application of fuzzy set theory in the context of triangular norms, with a focus on strong Sheffer stroke NMV-algebras.

Ternary derivations of triangular algebras
Ternary derivations extend the concept of derivations to triples of linear maps. In this thesis, we describe ternary derivations of triangular algebras.

Detecting Periodicity of a General Stationary Time Series via AR(2)‐Model Fitting
ABSTRACT Estimating the periodicity of a stationary time series via fitting a second‐order stationary autoregressive (AR(2)) model has been initiated by the seminal paper of Yule (1927). We investigate properties of this procedure when applied to general stationary processes possessing a spectral density with a dominant peak at some unknown frequency ...
