Investigation of Turbulence and Turbulent Prandtl Number Models for He-Xe Thermal Hydraulics in Quasi-Triangular Channel

open access: yesEnergies
Compact nuclear reactor systems usually use helium–xenon (He-Xe) mixtures as coolants. Tight-lattice rod-bundled channels, serving as primary core configurations in compact nuclear reactor designs, exhibit quasi-triangular cross-sections where fluid ...

Modulating Two‐Photon Absorption in a Pyrene‐Based MOF Series: An In‐Depth Investigation of Structure–Property Relationships

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates H4TBAPy‐based metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) ‐ NU‐1000, NU‐901, SrTBAPy, and BaTBAPy ‐ for multiphoton absorption (MPA) performance. It observes topology‐dependent variations in the 2PA cross‐section, with BaTBAPy exhibiting the highest activity.

Selective Benzene Capture by Metal‐Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) hold significant potential for capturing benzene from air emissions and hydrocarbon mixtures in liquid phases. This capability stems from their precisely engineered structures, versatile chemistries, and diverse binding interactions.

Rectification and Flux Reversals for Vortices Interacting with Triangular Traps

open access: yes, 2004
We simulate vortices in superconductors interacting with two-dimensional arrays of triangular traps. We find that, upon application of an ac drive, a net dc flow can occur which shows current reversals with increasing ac drive amplitude for certain ...

Near‐Infrared Emitting Lanthanide Catecholate Giant Single Crystals – Morphology Control and Photon Down‐Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Controlled syntheses of lanthanide coordination polymers based on the dihydroxybenzoquinone (DHBQ) organic linker afforded large single crystals of Ln‐DHBQ CPs (Ln = Yb, Nd). A novel structural variant of Yb‐DHBQ is identified by means of single crystal diffraction analysis.

Numerical simulation of flow in triangular minichannel

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2019
Minichannel cooling systems show great potential for small scale electronics. In this paper we analytically and numerically investigate flow with evaporation in open triangular minichannels without upper gas flow.

An All‐Optical Driven Bio‐Photovoltaic Interface for Active Control of Live Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Bio‐photovoltaic Interface (BIO‐PV‐I) for live cell manipulation is presented. BIO‐PV‐I can be activated non‐invasively and remotely to control the spatial motility, adhesion, and morphology of cells adhering to it. BIO‐PV‐I uses a patterned light‐induced electric potential in iron‐doped lithium niobate crystals whose light‐driven and reversible nature,
