The ICON-1.2 hydrostatic atmospheric dynamical core on triangular grids – Part 1: Formulation and performance of the baseline version [PDF]

open access: yesGeoscientific Model Development, 2013
As part of a broader effort to develop next-generation models for numerical weather prediction and climate applications, a hydrostatic atmospheric dynamical core is developed as an intermediate step to evaluate a finite-difference discretization of ...

Triangular Energy-Saving Cache-Based Routing Protocol by Energy Sieving

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2011
In wireless ad hoc networks, designing an energy-efficient routing protocol is a major issue since nodes are energy limited. To address energy issue, we proposed a triangular energy-saving cached-based routing protocol by energy sieving (TESCES).

On Triangular Secure Domination Number

open access: yesInPrime, 2020
Let T_m=(V(T_m), E(T_m)) be a triangular grid graph of m ϵ N level. The order of graph T_m is called a triangular number. A subset T of V(T_m) is a dominating set of T_m  if for all u_V(T_m)\T, there exists vϵT such that uv ϵ E(T_m), that is, N[T]=V(T_m).

Domination and Independent Domination in Extended Supergrid Graphs

open access: yesAlgorithms, 2022
Supergrid graphs are derived by computing stitch paths for computerized embroidery machines. In the past, we have studied the Hamiltonian-related properties of supergrid graphs and their subclasses of graphs. In this paper, we propose a generalized graph

Laser Metal Deposition of Aluminum Alloys 7075 and 5083 with the Addition of Volatile Alloying Elements through Powder Blending

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates laser metal deposition of aluminum alloys EN AW‐7075 and EN AW‐5083, using powder blending to compensate zinc and magnesium evaporation. In situ alloying and ex situ alloying with ZnAl12 and AZ91 preserve near‐standard compositions and improve mechanical properties.

Pyramidal Structures on Yttria‐Stabilized Zirconia after High Temperature Exposure at 1500°C: New Features on an Old Material

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
New features on yttria‐stabilized zirconia after exposure at 1500°C: Newly discovered pyramidal structures on an old material. After exposure at 1550°C on the cross section of YSZ new features, namely pyramidal structures are discovered. These structures grow with time, increase in numbers, appear as singularities, are often arranged in strings, and ...

Continuous attractor network model for conjunctive position-by-velocity tuning of grid cells. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS Computational Biology, 2014
The spatial responses of many of the cells recorded in layer II of rodent medial entorhinal cortex (MEC) show a triangular grid pattern, which appears to provide an accurate population code for animal spatial position.

Understanding and Optimizing Li Substitution in P2‐Type Sodium Layered Oxides for Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work explores Li‐substituted P2 layered oxides for Na‐ion batteries by crystallographic and electrochemical studies. The effect of lithium on superstructure orderings, on phase transitions during synthesis and electrochemical cycling and on the interplay of O‐ versus TM‐redox is revealed via various advanced techniques, including semi‐simultaneous

Effect of reward on electrophysiological signatures of grid cell population activity in human spatial navigation

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
The regular equilateral triangular periodic firing pattern of grid cells in the entorhinal cortex is considered a regular metric for the spatial world, and the grid-like representation correlates with hexadirectional modulation of theta (4–8 Hz) power in
