A superintegrable finite oscillator in two dimensions with SU(2) symmetry

open access: yes, 2012
A superintegrable finite model of the quantum isotropic oscillator in two dimensions is introduced. It is defined on a uniform lattice of triangular shape. The constants of the motion for the model form an SU(2) symmetry algebra.

Strongly Multiplicative Labeling on subdivision of Triangular Snake & Ladder graphs, Cyclic Quadrilateral & Pentagonal snake graphs

open access: yesInternational Journal of Innovative Technology and Exploring Engineering, 2019
In this paper we study the specific families of graphs which admit strongly multiplicative labeling. It is proved that the Subdivision of Triangular Snake, Subdivision of Alternate Triangular Snake and Subdivision of Ladder are strongly multiplicative graphs.

Register‐Efficient Linear‐Time Evaluation in the Bernstein Basis

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract We investigate the evaluation of points and derivatives of Bézier curves and surfaces on modern architectures, focusing on performance and guided by numerical error bounds. While the de Casteljau algorithm remains the reference for numerical robustness, its linear working‐set size imposes substantial register pressure on GPUs.

Using structured decision making to evaluate the tradeoffs of selective fish passage

open access: yesConservation Science and Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Dams have dramatically altered rivers and are a major contributor to native fish population declines. However, many dams serve important ecological, social, and economic functions, such as flood control, invasive species control, and provision of recreational opportunities.

Face Antimagic Labeling of House Graphs, Double House Graphs, and Triangular Ladder Graphs

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Statistics Studies
This study investigates the (a,d)-face antimagic labeling on three classes of planar graphs, namely the house graph, the double house graph, and the triangular ladder graph. An (a,d)-face antimagic labeling is defined as a bijective function from the set of vertices, edges, and faces to the set of positive integers, such that the sum of the labels ...

Winter‐active spiders (Clubiona) have a hyperactive antifreeze protein with a unique beta‐solenoid fold

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Antifreeze proteins from winter‐active spiders were purified using their affinity for ice. After LC–MSMS characterization, corresponding transcripts were identified. The antifreeze protein folds as a β‐solenoid with a large flat ice‐binding site on one surface and can bind to ice crystals and prevent their growth at −4 °C.

Quasi‐Resonant Tunneling Transport in Magnetic CrBr3

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research
Tunneling techniques are pivotal for probing 2D magnetic materials. While the Fowler‐Nordheim model describes tunneling in bulk materials through bias‐induced triangular potentials, van der Waals layered systems require special consideration of ...

Kant's Metaphysics of Race, Its Distinctiveness, and Its Normativity

open access: yesJournal of Social Philosophy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Drawing on the contemporary taxonomy of the metaphysics of race, this paper shows that Kant's theory of race occupies a distinct metaphysical position on race. Second, it argues that Kant's metaphysics of race inherently produces racist claims.

From mechanisms to systems: Reconceptualising supervised workplace learning in postgraduate medical education

open access: yesMedical Education, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Why do the same supervisory mechanisms (feedback, observation, entrustment) produce different learning experiences across clinical settings? Current research treats them as discrete behaviours rather than examining how they interact within local contexts.
