Design and experimental study of high speed and high torque drilling equipment in complex weak coal seam

open access: yesMeikuang Anquan
The drilling effect of complex and weak coal seams is of great significance for gas extraction in mines. A ZDY6000LR high-speed tracked drilling rig with high rotational speed, high power, and high torque performance was designed to address the problems ...

A Relational Perspective on Land in Armed Conflict: Analysing the Village Guard Mobilisation in Turkey

open access: yesStudies in Ethnicity and Nationalism, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article examines the Turkish state's Village Guard system, revived in the 1980s as part of its counterinsurgency strategy against the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK). While often framed as a defensive militia, the Village Guards became central to the state's exceptional governance in Kurdistan, both facilitating military control and ...

Does Global Value Chain Participation Matter for Economic Upgrading? A Nonlinear Insight

open access: yesThe World Economy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In recent decades, global value chains (GVCs) have come to dominate much of world trade. Participation in GVCs is widely regarded as a key driver of development by enabling countries to climb the value‐added ladder. However, tighter governance structures within GVCs can make these benefits uncertain.

Validating Oxford Nanopore Technologies Amplicon Sequencing as an Alternative to Sanger Sequencing for Generating Plant Molecular Markers

open access: yesNew Zealand Journal of Botany, Volume 64, Issue 2, June 2026.
Molecular phylogenetic markers used to be ubiquitously obtained by Sanger sequencing, while recently, next generation sequencing (NGS) approaches have become popular alternatives. In this study, a pipeline utilizing Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) amplicon sequencing (amplicon‐seq) was examined as an alternative to Sanger sequencing, with nine loci [

The large $|U|$ expansion for a half-filled asymmetric Hubbard model on a triangular ladder in the presence of spin-dependent magnetic flux

open access: yesJournal of Physics A: Mathematical and Theoretical
We consider a half-filled system of spin-1/2 fermions on a triangular ladder with spin-dependent hopping in the presence of spin-dependent flux. Using the Schrieffer-Wolff transformation, we derive an effective spin Hamiltonian describing the infrared properties of the system in the limit of strong on-site repulsion.

Edge‐State Competition in a 2D Topological Insulator‐Semiconductor Heterostructure

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, Volume 9, Issue 4, April 2026.
Quantum spin Hall edge transport in a T′WSe2$T^{\prime}\ {\rm WSe}_2$ monolayer depends on whether edge channels survive substrates and device boundaries. We implement spin‐orbit coupling in DFTB and GFN‐xTB and apply it to T′/H${\rm T}^{\prime }/{\rm H}$ WSe2${\rm WSe}_2$ heterostructures. T′${\rm T}^{\prime }$ edge states are preserved on an edgeless

Exploring the Role of Ideology and Sectoral Power for Trade Unions' Social Partnership Choices in Liberal Market Economies

open access: yesIndustrial Relations: A Journal of Economy and Society, Volume 65, Issue 2, Page 103-120, April 2026.
ABSTRACT While scholars have often debated the outcomes of partnership strategy, they have rarely studied the conditions in which trade unions opt to pursue partnerships, especially social partnerships in liberal market economies (‘LMEs’). By comparing five trade unions' social partnership responses in the US‐American and English healthcare systems ...

Phase Transitions and Electron Correlation in: Depleted Spin Ladders, Itinerant Electrons on Triangular Lattices and Unconventional Iron Based Superconductors

open access: yes, 2018
Condensed matter physics is perhaps the largest branch of physics currently studied. Al- though progress in this field promises potential applications technological breakthroughs, there is a much more fundamental reason for such interest in this field. Part of the explanation lies in the inherently many-body nature of condensed matter.
