A New Approach to Automatic Generation of all Quadrilateral Mesh for Finite Element Analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This paper presents a new mesh generation method for a convex polygonal domain. We first decompose the convex polygon into simple sub regions in the shape of triangles.

Texture‐Enhanced Mechanical Stability of Transparent Electrodes for Flexible Optoelectronics with Near‐Infrared Response

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Texturing of indium tin oxide (ITO) electrodes on plastic substrates is found to enable both, a remarkable transparency up to the near‐infrared region, and a massively enhanced mechanical stability upon bending. Therefore, textured ITO electrodes are an appealing option for flexible opto‐electronic applications with near‐infrared response, such as all ...

An inequality on the edge lengths of triangular meshes

open access: yesComputational Geometry, 2011
AbstractWe give a short proof of the following geometric inequality: for any two triangular meshes A and B of the same polygon C, if the number of vertices in A is at most the number of vertices in B, then the maximum length of an edge in A is at least the minimum distance between two vertices in B. Here the vertices in each triangular mesh include the

Advancement in Colloidal Metasurfaces: Approaches for Scalable Photonic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This perspective explores colloidal metasurfaces composed of plasmonic and emitting nanoparticles assembled by laser interference lithography and template‐assisted self‐assembly methods. Precise design strategies achieve directional emission, low‐threshold lasing, and tunable photonic bandgaps.

Spatially Controlled 3‐D Multiplexed Aptamer Patterning in Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A hydrogel platform based on norbornene‐functionalized polyvinyl alcohol enables high‐resolution, 3‐D multiplexed patterning of DNA aptamers via two‐photon polymerization. Two distinct aptamers are covalently immobilized with single micron‐scale precision across the x, y, and z dimensions.
