Camera Path Generation for Triangular Mesh Using Toroidal Patches

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Triangular mesh data structures are principal in computer graphics, serving as the foundation for many 3D models. To effectively utilize these 3D models across diverse industries, it is important to understand the model’s overall shape and geometric ...

Sustainable 3D‐Printed Platforms with Durable Photocatalytic Coatings for Efficient Water Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, EarlyView.
This work presents a sustainable 3D‐printed scaffold with a bioinspired, wear‐resistant surface for photocatalyst coatings. The nano‐enabled scaffolds demonstrate exceptional stability, maintaining performance after 30 cycles of chemical regeneration and UV irradiation, while achieving a removal efficiency of 93%.

Electro‐Thermal Response of Thin Film Heaters Based on Embedded Periodic Metallic Mesh

open access: yesAdvanced Theory and Simulations, EarlyView.
“This study systematically investigates the effect of periodic metallic mesh topology on electrical and electro‐thermal behaviours of thin thermal heaters. The derived closed‐form expressions capture the dependence of sheet resistance on design parameters, providing a crucial tool for rapidly exploring a vast design space and accelerating design and ...

Extracting Spatial Spectra Using Coarse‐Graining Based On Implicit Filters

open access: yesJournal of Advances in Modeling Earth Systems
Scale analysis based on coarse‐graining has been proposed recently as an alternative to Fourier analysis. It requires interpolation to a regular mesh for data from unstructured‐mesh models. We propose an alternative coarse‐graining method which relies on

Exploration of Half‐Cycle Length of Converging Circular Wavy Duct with Diverging‐Outlet: Turbulent Water Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Theory and Simulations, EarlyView.
Increasing half‐cycles intensifies turbulence due to enhanced vortex interactions and flow separation at the diverged‐outlets. Longer wavy ducts are shown to increase flow acceleration, resulting in greater output velocities and more turbulent‐kinetic‐energy production. Wave‐period plays a crucial role in determining turbulent intensity, with amplitude

A new spatial data structure for triangular mesh with toroidal patches

open access: yesJournal of King Saud University: Computer and Information Sciences
We introduce a novel spatial data structure for a triangular mesh consisting of osculating toroidal patches. A toroidal patch is generated using the differential geometry of a vertex by approximating a local surface to estimate the principal curvatures ...
