Exact and approximate boundary data interpolation in the finite element method [PDF]
Matching boundary data exactly in an elliptic problem avoids one of Strang's "variational crimes". (Strang and Fix (1973)). Supporting numerical evidence for this procedure is given by Marshall and Mitchell (1973), who considered the solution of Laplace ...

SPG4 and Dementia: Expanding the Clinical Spectrum
ABSTRACT Objective Hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP) is a group of disorders characterized by progressive spasticity and lower limb weakness, with mutations in SPG4/SPAST being the most common cause. Detailed studies and clinical and molecular comparisons across different populations are missing.

Memory and Resting‐State Connectivity in Acute Transient Global Amnesia: A Case–Control fMRI Study
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Transient global amnesia (TGA) is a striking model of isolated amnesia. While hippocampal lesions are well described, the network‐level mechanisms and the precise neuropsychological profile remain debated. Our objective was thus to characterize functional and neuropsychological correlates of acute TGA and their ...

On distance distribution functions-valued submeasures related to aggregation functions
Probabilistic submeasures generalizing the classical (numerical) submeasures are introduced and discussed in connection with some classes of aggregation functions.

Objective Cam morphology, a significant risk factor for hip osteoarthritis, is commonly quantified by the alpha angle (AA). This study aims to explore the potential of the triangular index ratio (TIR) to quantify cam morphology on anteroposterior radiographs by assessing the association between TIR‐defined cam morphology and the development of ...

The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Triangular norm based predicate fuzzy logics
The authors present an interesting survey of predicate fuzzy logics based on triangular norms (t-norms), collecting previous results by themselves and by other authors in the more general context of core fuzzy logics (i.e., logics expanding MTL and satisfying the local deduction theorem) and Delta-core fuzzy logics (i.e., logics expanding MTL with ...

The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

Aggregating T-equivalence relations [PDF]
This contribution deals with the problem of aggregating Tequivalence relations, in the sense that we are looking for functions that preserve reflexivity, symmetry, and transitivity with respect to a given t-norm T.
