ABSTRACT Swelling of clay‐sulfate rocks is a concern in geotechnical engineering that can damage infrastructure. In the historic town of Staufen in southwest Germany, geothermal drilling into a swellable anhydrite‐bearing clay formation resulted in water inflow and subsequent swelling, triggering ground heave and damage to more than 250 houses.

Uncemented sand under triaxial compression
X-ray Computed Tomography 3D image of a cylindrical dry sand sample tested with triaxial compression: the Digital Volume Correlation shows that, in the loading step 07-08 (16% - 19% of axial strain), a network of shear bands develops in the middle of the

T‐800: An 800 Hz Data Glove for Precise Hand Gesture Tracking
Hand motion capture provides critical insights into human dexterity and facilitates advancements in robotic manipulation, yet existing systems are limited by a trade‐off between temporal resolution and visual occlusion. Here, the authors present T‐800, a high‐bandwidth data glove achieving synchronized full‐hand motion capturing at 800 Hz.
