Modification of linear regression method for rock shear strength parameters under triaxial condition

open access: yesRock and Soil Mechanics, 2022
The triaxial strength envelope of rocks is usually nonlinear, and the shear strength parameters obtained by the linear regression method (LRM) are highly sensitive to confining pressure.

Liquefaction of Saturated Sand in Triaxial Torsion Shear Test

open access: yesSoils and Foundations, 1972
ABSTRACT Strain-controlled cyclic torsion tests were run on a saturated sand using a triaxial torsion apparatus in which the vertical piston was designed so that its cross sectional area was equal to that of the specimen. In the first series of tests, a cyclic twist was applied while keeping the principal stress ratio constant.

Shear and Liquefaction Characteristics of Sandy Soils in Triaxial Tests

open access: yesSoils and Foundations, 2004
Reclaimed ground of Kobe Port Island liquefied during the 1995 Hyogoken-Nambu Earthquake. That ground had been created by reclaiming decomposed granite called Masado. In this research, shear and liquefaction characteristics of Masado were examined by conducting monotonic and cyclic triaxial tests. A similar experiment was also conducted on Toyoura sand

Application of the ANFIS to analysis of results from soil testings

open access: yesBudownictwo i Architektura, 2014
The article was analyzed in order to test applicability and capability of the ANFIS tool used for interpretation of results of triaxial shear tests on loamy soils sampled near Olsztyn.

Behaviour of a loose silty sand under static and cyclic loading conditions [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2019
In recent years, considerable progress have been made in the study of liquefaction and flow failures with the introduction of the notion of steady-state of deformation and “collapse” envelope.

Study of the mechanical characteristics of coal-serial sandstone after high temperature treatment under true triaxial loading

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
In this study, a series of true triaxial loading tests were carried out on coal-measure sandstone after high temperature treatment by using a self-developed true triaxial test system combined with acoustic emission (AE) monitoring, and the mass loss ...

Predicting shear strength mobilization of London clay [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
When designing geotechnical structures engineers need to assign soil parameters. Soil design parameters are often inferred through correlations with basic site investigation data.
