Noise Suppression in Organic Photodiodes: A Comprehensive Review of Mechanistic Insights and Design Principles

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 3, 13 January 2026.
Organic photodiodes are limited by dark current and excess low‐frequency noise. This review synthesizes mechanisms of noise, links to three leakage pathways, and unifies measurement practice with device design. By outlining energetics, morphology, and interface strategies, it provides validated routes to lower noise floors and higher detectivity across

Molecularly Engineered Fluorescent Magnetic Microrobots for Sensing High‐Energy Nitroaromatic Explosives in Highly Acidic Aqueous Environments

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 5, 22 January 2026.
Magnetically powered fluorescent microrobots embedded with ketenimine‐based probes enable remote sensing of high‐energy explosive compounds in harsh acidic environments. Upon interaction with picric acid, the fluorescence of the microrobots is quenched, providing a precise “on–off” detection mechanism for selective monitoring in confined and hazardous ...

Cross‐Scale Study of DP780 Steel: From Crystal Plasticity Modeling to Failure and Formability Prediction

open access: yessteel research international, Volume 97, Issue 1, Page 252-267, January 2026.
A cross‐scale modeling strategy is developed to predict failure and formability of DP780 steel by linking microstructural features with macroscopic behavior. Crystal plasticity and macroscopic damage models are integrated and validated through nanoindentation, in situ bending, and finite element simulations.

Metamodeling of Void Closure during Hot Flat Rolling

open access: yessteel research international, Volume 97, Issue 1, Page 104-115, January 2026.
This work aims to present a fast metamodel for void closure during hot flat rolling. The model takes into account every individual void of void distributions as found in industrial material and is capable of calculating the resulting void closure within only few seconds of computational time without loosing significant accuracy compared to expensive ...

Longitudinal Variability of Pre‐Midnight Equatorial Plasma Bubbles Under Disturbed Geomagnetic Conditions

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, Volume 131, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract Equatorial plasma bubbles (EPBs) pose significant challenges to trans‐ionospheric radio communication and navigation systems. Because of their disruptive effects, evaluating and predicting them is key for the development of space systems. The influence of geomagnetic activity on EPBs remains unclear, partly due to limited low‐latitude neutral ...
