AbstractThe triboelectric series is a generally accepted method for describing the triboelectric effect. It provides a way to control the double face of the ubiquitous triboelectric effect: causes of unpredictable accidents and the resultant surface charge as energy sources. However, previous studies have been biased in solids despite being observed in

When Flexoelectricity Drives Triboelectricity
Nano Letters, 2022Triboelectricity has been known since antiquity, but the fundamental science underlying this phenomenon lacks consensus. We present a flexoelectric model for triboelectricity where contact deformation induced band bending at the nanoscale is the driving force for charge transfer.

Flexible triboelectric generator
Nano Energy, 2012Abstract Charges induced in triboelectric process are usually referred as a negative effect either in scientific research or technological applications, and they are wasted energy in many cases. Here, we demonstrate a simple, low cost and effective approach of using the charging process in friction to convert mechanical energy into electric power for

Triboelectric spray ionization
Journal of Mass Spectrometry, 2013Triboelectric spray ionization (TESI) is a variation of electrospray ionization (ESI) using common instrumental components, including gas flow, solvent flow rate and heat, the only difference being the use of a high‐voltage power supply for ESI or a static charge for TESI.

Photo-stimulated triboelectric generation
Nanoscale, 2017We report a photo-stimulated triboelectric generation occurring on the metal–oxide/polyimide interface during instantaneous friction. The photogenerated electrons were accumulated at the surface of TiOx, reversing the charge transfer and enhancing the output signals of the nanogenerator by 5 times.

Cylindrical Rotating Triboelectric Nanogenerator
ACS Nano, 2013We demonstrate a cylindrical rotating triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) based on sliding electrification for harvesting mechanical energy from rotational motion. The rotating TENG is based on a core-shell structure that is made of distinctly different triboelectric materials with alternative strip structures on the surface.
