Chemical composition and biological activity against Tribolium castaneum (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae) of Artemisia brachyloba essential oil

Industrial crops and products (Print), 2019
The aim of this study was to investigate the biological effects of essential oil from Artemisia brachyloba against Tribolium castaneum. The essential oil from the aerial parts of Artemisia brachyloba was obtained by hydrodistillation and analyzed by gas ...

Development of Tribolium castaneum

Development Genes and Evolution, 2008
With the publication of the Tribolium castaneum genome (Richards et al. 2008), carefully annotated insects genomes are now available for three insect orders: the flies (Diptera: 12 Drosophila species and two mosquito species: Anopheles gambiae, Aedes aegypti), the bees, wasps, and ants (Hymenoptera: Apis mellifera), and the beetles (Coleoptera) to ...

Benzoquinones of the Beetles,Tribolium CastaneumTribolium Confusum

Preparative Biochemistry, 1995
Tribolium castaneum and T. confusum were washed in HPLC-grade methanol, and the methanolic washes were analyzed by UV spectroscopy, reversed phase HPLC, and GC/MS. The methanolic washes from both species contained methyl-1,4-benzoquinone (MBQ) and ethyl-1,4-benzoquinone (EBQ).

Sampling Tribolium castaneum and Tribolium confusum in flour mill rollstands

Journal of Stored Products Research, 2013
Abstract Rollstands (Simons) in three Canadian flour mills were internally sampled and the number of adult and pupae Tribolium spp. present were counted. Middling rollstands had higher infestations than the break rollstands. The number of adult beetles inside the rollstands was compared to beetle activity seen outside the rollstands, which was ...

Acetylcholinesterase in Tribolium Confvsum Duval

Archives Internationales de Physiologie et de Biochimie, 1966
AbstractOccurrence of AChE analogous to vertebrate AChE has been demonstrated in T. confusum. The findings are based upon substrate specificity, substrate concentration pattern, sensitivity to Selective inhibitors and electrophoresis on polyacrylamide gel. Variations in the titre of AChE has been shown in relation to various stages in the life cycle of

Productivity of Inbred Strains of Tribolium Confusum and Tribolium Castaneum

Ecology, 1964
Studies of the variation in productivity in inbred strains of Tribolium confusum and Tribolium castaneum were undertaken to determine the effects of inbreeding on different strains of common ancestry. Six strains of each species were tested after eight to ten generations of inbreeding by full sibling crosses.
