Prenatal effects of trichlorfon on the guinea pig brain

Archives of Toxicology, 1986
The organophosphorus compound trichlorfon, dimethyl (2,2,2-trichloro-1-hydroxyethyl) phosphonate, was administered by stomach tube (100 mg/kg) to pregnant guinea pigs at two different stages of gestation (days 36, 37, 38 and 51, 52, 53). The pups developed locomotory disturbances, and post mortem examination revealed significantly decreased weights of ...

Hepatotoxicity of trichlorfon and dichlorvos in isolated rat hepatocytes

Toxicology, 1992
Hepatotoxicity of organophosphorus insecticides, trichlorofon and dichlorvos, a dechlorinated form of the former, was examined in isolated hepatocytes from untreated control and phenobarbital-pretreated (80 mg/kg, i.p., for 3 days) rats. These compounds produced toxic effects on hepatocytes as evidenced by malondialdehyde production and lactate ...

Indirect polarographic determination of trichlorfon and dichlorvos

Zeitschrift für Lebensmittel-Untersuchung und -Forschung, 1974
A method of indirect polarographic determination of trichlorfou and dichlorvos was elaborated. Glyoxal, the product of alkaline hydrolysis of both these organophosphorus insecticides, condenses with o-phenylendiamine to forming quinoxaline, which is polarographically reduced, giving a well-developed two-electron wave.

Trichlorfon: a Selective Insecticide for Lowbush Blueberry

Journal of Economic Entomology, 1978
Excellent control of the blueberry flea beetle, Altica sylvia Malloch, a casebeetle, Neochlamisus cribripennis (LeConte), a spanworm, Itame argillaceria Packard, and 2 sawflies, Neopareophora litura Klug and Pristiphora sp., was obtained on Vaccinium angustifolium Ait. with a single application of trichlorlon at 1 kg AI/ha. There was no apparent affect

MICROWAVE SYNTHESIS OF TRICHLORFON AND ITS ANALOGUES

Phosphorus, Sulfur, and Silicon and the Related Elements, 2004
The synthesis of dialkyl-(2,2,2-trichloro-1-Hydroxyethyl) phosphonates using dialkyl hydrogen phosphite and chloral hydrate under solvent-free condition by microwave irradiation is reported. The products were chrachetrized using 1 H NMR, 13 C NMR, and 31 P NMR spectroscopy.

Genotoxic activity of dichlorvos, trichlorfon and dichloroacetaldehyde

Pesticide Science, 1984
AbstractTwo structurally related organophosphorous insecticides, dichlorvos and trichlorfon, and their main metabolite dichloroacetaldehyde, were assayed for their ability to induce DNA repair, detected as unscheduled DNA synthesis in human epithelial‐like cell (EUE) cultures in vitro.

Distribution and persistence of trichlorfon in a forest environment

Journal of Environmental Science and Health, Part B, 1989
Abstract Trichlorfon, 0,0‐dimethyl‐2, 2, 2‐trichloro‐l‐hydroxy‐ethyl phosphonate, was sprayed over a mixed boreal forest in New Brunswick, at a dosage rate of 1.14 kg of active ingredient (AI) in 1.48 L/ha, using a team of three Grumman Avenger TBM aircraft.

[Efficacy of the oral antiparasitic mebendazole plus trichlorfon (telmin plus trichlorfon) against Gasterophilus in the horse].

Schweizer Archiv fur Tierheilkunde, 1994
The combined drug Mebendazole plus Trichlorfon (Telmin plus Trichlorfon, Janssen Pharmaceutica, Beerse/Belgium) has been tested in a field trial against naturally acquired Gasterophilus spp. infestations in horses. 44 foals (1 to 1.5 years old, 350-450 kg body-weight) originating from different endemic areas of Switzerland, have been randomly allocated

Aeration rate, pH and temperature effects on the degradation of trichlorfon to DDVP and the half-lives of trichlorfon and DDVP in seawater

Aquaculture, 1987
Abstract Using a high performance liquid chromatography method, the effect of temperature, a lower pH and a constant high aeration rate, on the degradation of trichlorfon to DDVP and the half-lives of trichlorfon and DDVP in seawater were measured.
