A Tensioned Human Skin Explant Model Used for Preliminary Assessment of Chemexfoliant-Stimulated Bioeffects

open access: yesJID Innovations
A tensioned ex vivo full-thickness human skin explant platform was used to assess the bioeffects arising from application of several commercial chemexfoliation agents.

Export of honeybee prepromelittin in Escherichia coli depends on the membrane potential but does not depend on proteins secA and secY [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
Honeybee prepromelittin (70 amino acid residues), the precursor of an eukaryotic secretory protein, and a hybrid protein between prepromelittin and mouse dihydrofolate reductase (257 amino acid residues) were expressed in Escherichia coli and ...

Platelet Rubicon Bidirectional Regulation of GPVI and Integrin αIIbβ3 Signaling Mitigates Stroke Infarction Without Compromising Hemostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies Rubicon as a key platelet protein that bidirectionally regulates GPVI and integrin αIIbβ3 signaling. Platelet Rubicon protects against cerebral ischemia‐reperfusion injury by limiting infarction without increasing hemorrhage.

Fat Plug Myringoplasty Vs Trichloroacetic Acid Cauterization as Office Procedures for Managing Small Central Perforation

open access: yesBengal Journal of Otolaryngology and Head Neck Surgery, 2020
Introduction In a series of day care office procedures, techniques like fat plug myringoplasty and Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) cauterization are becoming increasingly popular for managing small central perforations now-a-days[Office1] . These are minor,

Localization of tyrosine kinase-coding region in v-abl oncogene by the expression of v-abl-encoded proteins in bacteria [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
A series of plasmids containing different segments of the v-abl oncogene have been constructed to express different portions of the v- abl protein in bacteria.

Measurement of Fe(2+)-induced Lipid Peroxidation of Mitochondria used Thiobarbituric Acid Method under the Acetic Acid Conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Mitochondrial lipid peroxidations were usually detected by the thiobarbituric acid (TBA) color reaction under the acidic conditions with hydrochloric and trichloroacetic acids. The time response curve of Fe(2+)-induced lipid peroxidation, accompanied the

p16Ink4a‐Positive Hepatocytes Drive Liver Fibrosis Through Activation of LIFR Family Pathway

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study found that, following the long‐term CCl4 treatment, p16high hepatocytes appeared in zone 3, spatially co‐localizing with fibrotic areas. A specific cluster of p16high hepatocytes upregulated CTF1/LIF expression which induced HSC activation and further liver fibrosis, as revealed by single cell transcriptomic analysis.

A Comparison between the Effects of Glucantime, Topical Trichloroacetic Acid 50% plus Glucantime, and Fractional Laser plus Glucantime on Cutaneous Leishmaniasis Lesions

open access: yesمجله دانشکده پزشکی اصفهان, 2013
Background: Cutaneous leishmaniasis is an endemic disease in Iran. Pentavalent antimonial drugs have been the first line of therapy in cutaneous leishmaniasis for many years. However, the cure rate of these agents is still not favorable.

Anchoring of Surface Proteins to the Cell Wall of Staphylococcus aureus: sortase catalyzed in vitro transpeptidation reaction using LPXTG peptide and NH2-Gly3 substrates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Staphylococcus aureus sortase anchors surface proteins to the cell wall envelope by cleaving polypeptides at the LPXTG motif. Surface proteins are linked to the peptidoglycan by an amide bond between the C-terminal carboxyl and the amino group of the ...

ATP-independent Control of Vac8 Palmitoylation by a SNARE Subcomplex on Yeast Vacuoles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Yeast vacuole fusion requires palmitoylated Vac8. We previously showed that Vac8 acylation occurs early in the fusion reaction, is blocked by antibodies against Sec18 (yeast N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive fusion protein (NSF)), and is mediated by the R-SNARE
