Targeting the GPX4–FUNDC1 Interaction with Magnesium Lithospermate B Attenuates Sepsis‐Associated Lung Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The diagram depicts the endothelial‐protective mechanism of magnesium lithospermate B (MLB) in sepsis‐associated lung injury. MLB binds GPX4 at Gly79, disrupts its interaction with FUNDC1, prevents mitophagy‐mediated GPX4 degradation, restores mitophagic flux, reduces ROS, and limits ferroptosis.

Role of the host cell in bacteriophage T4 development. II. Characterization of host mutants that have pleiotropic effects on T4 growth [PDF]

open access: yes, 1980
Mutant host-defective Escherichi coli that fail to propagate bacteriophage T4 and have a pleiotropic effect on T4 development have been isolated and characterized.

Neuroprotective Effects of Time‐Restricted Feeding Combined With Different Protein Sources in MPTP‐Induced Parkinson's Disease Mice Model and Its Modulatory Impact on Gut Microbiota Metabolism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Time‐restricted feeding (TRF) exerts protein‐dependent neuroprotective effects in an MPTP‐induced Parkinson's disease model. In casein‐fed mice, TRF improves gut barrier integrity and reduces neuroinflammation, possibly via modulation of Allobaculum and BCAAs.

A peptide fraction in liver [PDF]

open access: yes, 1949
We reported in a preliminary communication (1) the isolation of a peptide fraction from guinea pig liver. The following points of interest appeared at once: many different amino acids were obtained on hydrolysis; the peptide fraction contained most of ...

Inhibition of Tendon Cell Proliferation and Matrix Glycosaminoglycan Synthesis by Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs in vitro [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of some commonly used non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) on human tendon. Explants of human digital flexor and patella tendons were cultured in medium containing pharmacological ...

A Reactive Antagonist Strategy: Cysteine‐Directed Covalent Molecular Glue in Plant Hormone Receptor Regulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The plant hormone jasmonate is perceived by COI1‐JAZ co‐receptors comprising a single F‐box protein COI1 and multiple JAZ repressors with overlapping functions, complicating genetic analysis. We present a reactive antagonist (RA) strategy that selectively promotes COI1 binding to a cysteine‐engineered JAZ variant while blocking wild‐type JAZs, enabling

A simple lipase assay using trichloroacetic acid

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1972
An extremely rapid and sensitive assay for lipoprotein lipase activity, suitable for routine determinations, is described. The substrate for the assay is emulsified [2-3H]glyceryl trioleate, activated by serum. The method is based on trichloroacetic acid
