Continuous Developmental and Early Life Trichloroethylene Exposure Promoted DNA Methylation Alterations in Polycomb Protein Binding Sites in Effector/Memory CD4+ T Cells

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2019
Trichloroethylene (TCE) is an industrial solvent and drinking water pollutant associated with CD4+ T cell-mediated autoimmunity. In our mouse model, discontinuation of TCE exposure during adulthood after developmental exposure did not prevent ...

Organocatalytic Enantioselective Addition of Malonates to Cyclic Imines: A Short Total Synthesis of Tetraponerine T‐1

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A stereoselective functionalization method of cyclic imines under mild organocatalytic conditions was developed. Bifunctional cinchona alkaloid catalysts combined with carefully optimized reaction conditions to suppress background reactivity enabled highly enantio‐ and diastereoselective addition reactions of malonates to cyclic imines.

Laboratory-Scale Evaluation of an Electrochemical Barrier System for Targeted Removal of Vinyl Chloride and Trichloroethylene from Groundwater

open access: yesHydrology
Chlorinated solvents such as vinyl chloride (VC) and trichloroethylene (TCE) represent a persistent threat to groundwater-derived drinking-water supplies, including riverbank filtration well fields in alluvial aquifers.

Structure‐forward targeting of claudins with synthetic binders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Claudins form the paracellular barriers between epithelial and endothelial tissues at tight junctions and are targets for molecular binders with the goal of modulating barrier permeability. Claudin‐binding molecules are relevant in drug delivery or in altering claudin interactions with disease‐causing proteins.

Advanced Removal of Trichloroethylene from Water by Sonolysis, Biocatalytic Oxidation and Ultrafiltration

open access: yesRomanian Journal of Ecology & Environmental Chemistry, 2020
Trichloroethylene (TCE) causes important pollution problems of soil and groundwater in other countries even in this day when its direct application is less than the last century.

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.
