Parasitism Capacity of Trichogramma pretiosum and Trichogramma acacioi (Hym.: Trichogrammatidae) on eggs of Sitotroga cerealella (Lep.: Gelechiidae)

open access: yesBrazilian Archives of Biology and Technology, 2008
The objective of this work was to evaluate the parasitism capacity of Trichogramma pretiosum Riley and T. acacioi Brun, Moraes and Soares (Hymenoptera: Trichogrammatidae) in eggs of the alternative host Sitotroga cerealella (Olivier) (Lepidoptera ...

Egg parasitoids of Arboridia apicalis (Nawa, 1913) (Hemiptera, Cicadellidae), a leafhopper pest of grapevines in Japan, with description of a new species of Anagrus Haliday, 1833 (Hymenoptera, Mymaridae) [PDF]

open access: yesZooKeys, 2020
Several species of egg parasitoids (Hymenoptera: Mymaridae and Trichogrammatidae) of the leafhopper pest of grapevines in Japan, Arboridia (Arboridia) apicalis (Nawa) (Hemiptera, Cicadellidae), were reared and identified for the first time.

The Importance of the Larval Parasitoid Actia interrupta (Diptera: Tachinidae) in Low Density Eastern Spruce Budworm Populations

open access: yesEntomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, EarlyView.
Actia interrupta is an important larval tachinid parasitoid during low‐density populations of the eastern spruce budworm. In the late 1980s during the outbreak collapse, Meteorus trachynotus was initially the most important species, but was replaced by A. interrupta. Host patch size and density had no impact on the parasitism rates by A.

Sequence analysis of the ribosomal DNA ITS2 region in two Trichogramma species (Hymenoptera: Trichogrammatidae) [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Biological Sciences, 2011
Two egg parasitoid wasps, Trichogramma euproctidis (Girault) and Trichogramma brassicae (Bezdenko) (Hymenoptera: Trichogrammatidae) were identified in the study.

From biology to biotechnology: Host‐regulation factors from parasitoid wasps are a source of bioactive molecules with translational potential

open access: yesInsect Molecular Biology, EarlyView.
Parasitoid wasps deploy maternal and embryonic factors to reprogramme host physiology. Venom, calyx fluid, polydnaviruses, teratocytes and larval secretions act in a coordinated, compartmentalised manner. Host‐regulation factors are promising sources of insecticidal, antimicrobial and bioinspired translational molecules.

Optimisation of Drop‐Sheet Sampling in Macadamia (Macadamia integrifolia) Orchards: An Optimised Method for Monitoring Insect Ecology

open access: yesAustral Entomology, Volume 65, Issue 3, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Understanding orchard arthropod populations is a critical element of making strategic decisions regarding pest management. Therefore, it is paramount for farmers and crop consultants to use appropriate survey methods that provide a representative sample of orchard insect ecology. Currently, macadamia (Macadamia integrifolia) industry arthropod
