CICATRIZING TINEA CAPITIS CAUSED BY TRICHOPHYTON RUBRUM (TRICHOPHYTON PURPUREUM)

Archives of Dermatology, 1952
TINEA capitis, or ringworm of the scalp, may be caused by various species of the genera Microsporum and Trichophyton. These lesions are characterized by loss of hair in patches with or without vesicles and pustules and with a varying degree of inflammation. Canadian Journal of Chemistry, 1965
A group of polysaccharides, called galactomannans I, were precipitated as their insoluble copper complexes from aqueous solutions of the crude polysaccharides obtained from each of the organisms designated in the title. The five galactomannans I were homogeneous under conditions of electrophoresis and ultracentrifugation and had high positive specific

A more systematic examination of these pigments is therefore being carried out in this laboratory.

Trichophyton soudanense, Trichophyton violaceum, and Trichophyton tonsurans in Munich: Travel- and Migration-Related Cutaneous Fungal Infections

Dermatology
Introduction: Trichophyton soudanense, Trichophyton violaceum, and Trichophyton tonsurans are considered rare pathogens in Germany. They are presumed to infect people from Germany when they are traveling to tropical and subtropical areas. The incidence and the mode of infection with these three fungal pathogens in Munich were investigated to assess ...
