Treatment of Trichophyton mentagrophytes infection in rabbits

Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, 1991
Summary Copper sulfate and a metastabilized chlorous acid/chlorine dioxide (meca) compound were evaluated for efficacy in treating Trichophyton mentagrophytes infection in rabbits. Forty rabbits naturally infected with T mentagrophytes were allotted to 5 treatment groups: nontreated control, sham dip, 1% copper sulfate dip, meca dip, and meca spray ...

Galactomannan peptides of Trichophyton Mentagrophytes

Carbohydrate Research, 1967
Abstract Glycopeptides from deep and surface cultures of Trichophyton mentagrophytes have been separated and their sugar and amino acid components assayed. Aspects of some structure-biological activity relationships are presented.

Trichophyton mentagrophytes infection in laboratory white mice

Mycopathologia, 1976
Trichophyton mentagrophytes infection was studied in a breeding colony of 42 white mice. Symptoms were observed in only 3 out of the 12 animals shown to carry dermatophyte on their coats. Literature on Trichophyton mentagrophytes infection mice is reviewed.

Keratinolytische Aktivität von Trichophyton mentagrophytes

1988
Trichophyton mentagrophytes bildet extrazellulare, keratinolytische Proteasen mit ausgepragter Substratspezifitat. Die beiden identifizierten Enzyme haben ein Molekulargewicht von 80 bzw. 200 Kilodalton (Bestimmung mittels SDS-Porengradient-Gelelektrophorese).

[Comparative study of Trichophyton mentagrophytes and Trichophyton verrucosum].

Sabouraudia, 1981
Two species of the genus Trichophyton are described T. mentagrophytes and T. verrucosum, etiological agents of ringworm in rabbits. They are distinguished by their macroscopic and microscopic features, their ability to produce enzymes and their ability to utilize and ferment carbohydrates.

Morphological response of Trichophyton mentagrophytes to keratin

Mycopathologia et Mycologia Applicata, 1965
The protein keratin can induce a reversible change in morphology of some granular strains ofTrichophyton mentagrophytes leading to a gross appearance which is indistinguishable from the pleomorphic mutation. The only other chemical which induced the same morphological change was a low concentration of sodium acetate.
