Trickle Irrigation: Prevention of Clogging

Transactions of the ASAE, 1979
ABSTRACT TRICKLE irrigation experiments using Colorado River irrigation water on citrus trees in south-western Arizona were conducted to evaluate clogging of emitters and to investigate methods for controlling clogging. Clogging is related to the water quality in terms of the suspended sediment load, chemical compo-sition, and biological activity ...

Trickle Irrigation Uniformity and Efficiency

Journal of the Irrigation and Drainage Division, 1978
Expressions are developed and presented for the pressure head available at any point within a trickle irrigation subunit. Histograms are drawn showing the distributions of pressure within typical subunits. Distributions of emitter flow rates within typical subunits are derived from considerations of the effects of pressure differentials and ...

Trickle Irrigation Using Treated Wastewaters

Journal of the Irrigation and Drainage Division, 1979
A trickling irrigation system was installed in a cotton field to study the effects on the clogging of the emitters using treated wastewater. Also the effects of using reclaimed effluents on cotton yield and soil properties were studied under the the field conditions.

Infiltration from Trickle Irrigation Source

Journal of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering, 1984
The two-dimensional nonlinear partial differential equation that describes the transient movement of water in an unsaturated porous medium is investigated by using the zero-order continuous linear finite element method. The governing equation is transformed logarithmically to smooth the abrupt changes in the soil-water characteristic relations.
