Tricuspid valve imaging

Minerva Cardioangiologica, 2018
The right ventricle and tricuspid valve (TV) have long been neglected by cardiologists. Functional tricuspid regurgitation (TR) is nowadays the most common cause of severe TR and is emerging as a prognostic factor in many heart diseases. A multimodality imaging approach is fundamental for defining the pathophysiology of TR, using both two-dimensional ...

Repair of tricuspid valve regurgitation due to a tricuspid valve cleft

Asian Cardiovascular and Thoracic Annals, 2019
A cleft in the tricuspid valve, classified as congenital dysplasia, is a rare disease. Here, we report the case of a 79-year-old man with tricuspid regurgitation due to a cleft in the anterior leaflet. The patient underwent successful tricuspid valve repair with cleft closure, chordal reconstruction, and tricuspid annuloplasty.

Transcatheter Tricuspid Valve-in-Valve Intervention for Degenerative Bioprosthetic Tricuspid Valve Disease

Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography, 2018
Isolated reoperative tricuspid valve replacement is one of the highest risk operations classified in the Society of Thoracic Surgeons registry, particularly in the setting of preexisting right ventricular dysfunction. Transcatheter tricuspid valve-in-valve implantation represents an attractive alternative to redo surgery in patients with tricuspid ...

Tricuspid valve replacement with a bioprosthetic valve

Multimedia Manual of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery, 2008
Significant tricuspid regurgitation (TR) is present in many patients with heart failure. Valve replacement is necessary in patients in whom the valve is irreparable or in whom there is a high risk of late failure. The following manuscript and videos describe our approach to tricuspid valve replacement with a bioprosthetic valve.

Transjugular Tricuspid Valve-in-Valve Implantation

Heart, Lung and Circulation, 2013
A 60 year-old female underwent tricuspid valve replacement in 2002. Post-operative recovery was complicated by severe post-pericardiotomy-syndrome. Seven years later she underwent transcatheter valve-in-valve implantation through the right jugular vein because of early prosthesis deterioration. Moreover intra-operative transoesophageal echocardiography

Tricuspid Valve: Tricuspid Regurgitation

2015
Tricuspid regurgitation is defined by retrograde blood flow from the right ventricle to the right atrium due to an insufficient valve. The most common cause of tricuspid regurgitation is left sided heart failure, which results in increased right ventricular volumes and a subsequent functional regurgitation.

Tricuspidization of Quadricuspid Aortic Valve

The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 2013
A 65-year-old woman presented with New York Heart Association class II-III symptoms, no overt signs of heart failure, and echocardiographic findings of a quadricuspid aortic valve, Hurwitz type C, with severe aortic regurgitation, dilated left ventricle (7 cm), and moderate left ventricular dysfunction (45%). She subsequently underwent tricuspidization
