Transcatheter tricuspid valve replacement in patients with severe tricuspid regurgitation

Heart, 2021
Objective Tricuspid regurgitation (TR) is a common valvular heart disease with unsatisfactory medical therapeutics and high surgical mortality. The present study aims to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of transcatheter tricuspid valve replacement ...

Tricuspid valve repair for tricuspid valve endocarditis: Tricuspid valve “recycling”

The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 1991
Tricuspid valve endocarditis traditionally has been treated with either valve excision or valve replacement. To avoid implantation of foreign material in an infected field, we have applied the principles of mitral valve repair to 4 patients with tricuspid valve endocarditis.

Tricuspid valve imaging

Minerva Cardioangiologica, 2018
The right ventricle and tricuspid valve (TV) have long been neglected by cardiologists. Functional tricuspid regurgitation (TR) is nowadays the most common cause of severe TR and is emerging as a prognostic factor in many heart diseases. A multimodality imaging approach is fundamental for defining the pathophysiology of TR, using both two-dimensional ...

Tricuspid Valve Disease

Current Problems in Cardiology, 2008
The normal tricuspid valve anatomy and function have several dissimilarities to the corresponding mitral valve in the left heart, in part, based on lower pressures in the right heart chambers. The functional abnormalities resulting from tricuspid valve disease are classified as primary and secondary.

Tricuspid valve endocarditis

American Heart Journal, 1989
TVE is mainly a disease of intravenous drug abusers. Although the infecting organisms are often highly virulent, they frequently respond to medical treatment. The prognosis for patients with TVE is fairly good. About 25% of TVE patients require surgical intervention. Persistent sepsis and intractable congestive heart failure are indications for surgery.
