Abstract National Centers for Environmental Prediction turbulent kinetic energy (TKE)‐based eddy‐diffusivity mass‐flux (EDMF) scheme is implemented in Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory atmospheric model (AM4.0) for improving the physical consistency of subgrid‐scale planetary boundary layer (PBL) turbulence parameterization.

Frequency Response Analysis of State Space Models for Time Series Analysis
Abstract State space models are well‐suited for time series in which the evolution of variables cannot be well represented by deterministic basis functions. A key challenge in using state space models is the selection of the noise variance parameters. To better understand their impact on the model's filtering behavior, we derive the frequency response ...

Tridiagonal pairs of type III with height one
Let K denote an algebraically closed field with characteristic 0. Let V denote a vector space over K with finite positive dimension, and let A, A∗ denote a tridiagonal pair on V of diameter d. Let V0, . . . , Vd denote a standard ordering of the eigenspaces of A on V , and let θ0, . . . , θd denote the corresponding eigenvalues of A.

Dispersion of First Sound in a Weakly Interacting Ultracold Fermi Liquid
The weak‐interaction, low‐temperature region of the phase diagram of a Fermi gas the so‐called Fermi liquid regime, which has been somewhat overlooked in ultracold gases‐is investigated. Precise and measurable predictions are presented for the viscosity and dispersion of first sound to leading order in the scattering length.

A family of tridiagonal pairs related to the quantum affine algebra U_q(sl_2) [PDF]
A type of tridiagonal pair is considered, said to be mild of q-Serre type.It is shown that these tridiagonal pairs induce the structure of a quantum affine algebra Uq( sl2)-module on their underlying vector space. This is done by presenting an explicit basis for the underlying vector space and describing the Uq( sl2)-action on that basis.

Enhanced Cuckoo Search for Model Order Reduction ABSTRACT This article presents a critical review of classical and modern pole clustering techniques for model order reduction in high‐order systems. It highlights key limitations and common pitfalls encountered in traditional approaches, especially when extended to Multi‐Input Multi‐Output (MIMO) systems.

ERF: Energy Research and Forecasting Model
Abstract High performance computing (HPC) architectures have undergone rapid development in recent years. As a result, established software suites face an ever increasing challenge to remain performant on and portable across modern systems. Many of the widely adopted atmospheric modeling codes cannot fully (or in some cases, at all) leverage the ...

Sensitivity of Perron and Fiedler Eigenpairs to Structural Perturbations of a Network
ABSTRACT One can estimate the change of the Perron and Fiedler values for a connected network when the weight of an edge is perturbed by analyzing relevant entries of the Perron and Fiedler vectors. This is helpful for identifying edges whose weight perturbation causes the largest change in the Perron and Fiedler values.
