Trifluralin‐Substituted Amide Herbicide Interactions

Agronomy Journal, 1988
AbstractSubstituted amide and dinitroaniline herbicides are used to selectively control annual grasses and certain broadleaf weeds in soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.]. Often, additional herbicide must be applied to control other broadleaf weed species.

Effect of Trifluralin on Mitosis

Weed Science, 1972
The compound α,α,α-trifluoro-2,6-dinitro-N,N-dipropyl-p-toluidine (trifluralin) inhibited mitosis in onion(Allium cepaL. ‘Yellow Globe’) and wheat(Triticum aestivumL. Thorn’) root tips. Photomicrographs showed that trifluralin affected mitosis in the same manner as colchicine.

Oncogenicity study of trifluralin in B6C3F1 mice

Food and Chemical Toxicology, 1991
B6C3F1 mice were maintained for 24 months on diets containing 0, 563, 2250 or 4500 ppm trifluralin. These dietary concentrations corresponded to daily doses of approximately 70, 285 or 570 mg/kg body weight, respectively. The control group contained 120 mice/sex and treated groups consisted of 80 mice/sex. There were no treatment-related effects on the

Effects of trifluralin on the mouse ovary

Environmental Toxicology, 2011
AbstractTrifluralin, a herbicide used to protect many arable and horticultural crops, was evaluated for its potential toxicity on the mammalian ovary. To this end, adult female mice were fed or not (control) with a trifluralin‐enriched diet (150 mg/kg body weight/day) during gestation and lactation.

Anoxic treatment of trifluralin-contaminated soil

Journal of Hazardous Materials, 1996
Amending anoxic soils with stoichiometric amounts of sodium acetate led to the complete transformation of trifluralin within the 45 day treatment period. Under these conditions, a maximum trifluralin transformation rate of 4.9 mg kg−1 of soil per day was estimated, which corresponded to a chemical half life of 11.9 days.

Toxicokinetics of trifluralin in rainbow trout

Aquatic Toxicology, 1993
Abstract Rainbow trout weighing 80 g were statically exposed at 12°C to 2 ng/ml 14C-trifluralin (TF), a widely used herbicide. After various exposure times, TF was determined in exposure water, plasma, and carcass homogenate; the total amount of metabolites formed was also estimated.

Subsurface drip irrigation with micro-encapsulated trifluralin. Trifluralin residues in soils and cultivations.

Communications in agricultural and applied biological sciences, 2007
In full field and greenhouse agriculture, the subsurface water distribution with underground driplines--subsurface drip irrigation--is advantageous to obtain a better production and a simplification of cultivation practices. This technique can have a major applicative interest on condition that the roots' intrusion inside the driplines irrigators is ...

Herbicidal Activity of Starch Encapsulated Trifluralin

Weed Science, 1984
The formulation of trifluralin (α,α,α-trifluoro-2,6-dinitro-N,N-dipropyl-p-toluidine) encapsulated within a starch granule can reduce the loss in activity associated with the delayed incorporation of the emulsifiable concentrate formulation of trifluralin. Good weed control and high soybean [Glycine max(L.) Merr. ‘Wells II’] yields were obtained when a
