The influence of nitrogen application, seeding rate and methods of mixing of components on mixtures of Trifolium vesiculosum and Lolium multiflora.

open access: yes, 1990
The interaction between Trifolium vesiculosum cv. Amclo and Lolium multiflorum cv. Midmar in mixtures was measured in an irrigated field trial in terms of dry matter production, crude protein content and crude protein production. Two methods of mixing, namely mixing of the components in the same row and alternate rows of the two species, were compared ...

Effect of nitrogen application, seeding rate and defoliation height on mixtures of Trifolium vesiculosum cv Amclo and Lolium multiflorum cv Midmar: I. dry matter production, crude protein content and crude protein production.

open access: yes, 1988
The interaction between Trifolium vesiculosum cv Amclo and Lolium multiflorum cv Midmar was measured in a field trial, in terms of dry matter production, crude protein content and crude protein production. The treatments included in the field trials were five different seeding rates of the grass component, four rates of nitrogen application and two ...

Remarks on the type material and the identity of the name Trifolium multistriatum W.D.J.Koch (T. vesiculosum aggr., Fabaceae)

Phytotaxa, 2016
Trifolium multistriatum (T. sect. Vesicastrum subsect. Mystillus) is a neglected species currently considered as a synonym of T. setiferum or T. rumelicum. The identity of T. multistriatum compared to the species closely related is briefly discussed and its distinct autonomy is highlighted based on the analysis of relevant literature and herbarium ...

Effect of nitrogen application, seeding rate and defoliation height on mixtures ofTrifolium vesiculosumcv Amclo andLolium Multiflorumcv midmar: II. Yield advantage as reflected in the land equivalent ratio*

Journal of the Grassland Society of Southern Africa, 1988
Pure stands of Trifolium vesiculosum cv Amclo and Lolium multiflorum cv Midmar were compared with a range of mixtures of these two species in terms of dry matter production, crude protein content and crude protein production. Land equivalent ratios (LER) calculated for both dry matter and crude protein production showed that mixing of the two species ...

Management Effects on Forage Production and Digestibility of Yuchi Arrowleaf Clover (Trifolium vesiculosum Savi)1

Agronomy Journal, 1970
Abstract‘Yuchi’ arrowleaf clover (Trifolium vesiculosum Savi) produced more tillers and remained productive longer when cut at 1‐, 2‐, or 3‐week intervals than at 4‐, 5‐, or 6‐week intervals. Total yields were higher from less frequent cutting. Digestible dry matter (DDM) was high from December to maturity in June under all cutting frequencies.
