RIA Analysis of Unprotected TRIGA Reactor
An RIA (reactivity initiated accident) analysis has been carried out for the TRIGA Mark II research reactor considering both step and ramp reactivity ranges within 0.5 % dk/k (< $1) to 2.0 % dk/k (>$2). The insertion time was set at 10 s.

Nuclide inventory of FIR 1 TRIGA research reactor fuel
FiR 1, a TRIGA Mark II type research reactor, was operated in Finland for years 1962–2015 and will be decommissioned during the following few years. Data on the fuel nuclide inventories is needed to estimate fuel rod activities and dose rates for safe fuel removal, transportation and final disposal. This paper presents comparison calculations for FiR 1

Feasibility study of the university of Utah TRIGA reactor power upgrade - part II: Thermohydraulics and heat transfer study in respect to cooling system requirements and design [PDF]
The thermodynamic conditions of the University of Utah's TRIGA Reactor were simulated using SolidWorks Flow Simulation, Ansys, Fluent and PARET-ANL. The models are developed for the reactor's currently maximum operating power of 90 kW, and a few

ABSTRACT Boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) is a targeted radiotherapy that exploits the selective accumulation of the 10B isotope within tumors, followed by irradiation with low‐energy neutrons to induce high linear energy transfer particles with short path lengths, resulting in localized tumor cell destruction while sparing surrounding healthy ...

Abstract The Sangre de Cristo Range in southern Colorado records a complex tectonic history that includes Late Cretaceous–Eocene Laramide contraction and Oligocene–Quaternary Rio Grande rift extension. We present new thermochronologic data (40Ar/39Ar, fission‐track, (U‐Th)/He) and thermal history models that provide insight into this polyphase history ...

Abstract The Ames impact structure (Oklahoma) is thought to have formed during the Ordovician Meteor Event, based on conodont biostratigraphy of its crater fill. Here, U–Pb zircon dates from its impact‐melt portion, conducted using secondary ion mass spectrometry and laser ablation–inductively coupled plasma–mass spectrometry (n = 37 spots), yield a ...

Negatively charged boron vacancy defects in hexagonal boron nitride promise near‐surface quantum sensing, but their internal spin transition rates are only partly understood. This work directly measures the defect's singlet‐state lifetime, 15(3) ns, using a nanosecond rise‐time dual‐pulse photoluminescence‐recovery method, and shows that high laser ...
