Unilateral trigeminal motor nerve neuropathy

open access: yesRadiology Case Reports, 2022
Pure trigeminal motor neuropathy is represented by trigeminal motor weakness without signs of trigeminal sensory or other cranial nerve involvement. We present a case of 45-year-old male complaining of difficulty in chewing with facial asymmetry on right

Case Report: Trigeminal Neuralgia Caused by a Minute Meningioma with Hyperostosed Suprameatal Tubercle

open access: yesCase Reports in Neurology, 2015
Cerebellopontine angle tumors might occasionally provoke trigeminal neuralgia but are usually large enough to be diagnosed radiographically. We present a case of trigeminal neuralgia caused by a very small meningioma covering the suprameatal tubercle ...

The branching nerve of HDA and the Kan condition [PDF]

open access: yesTheory and Applications of Categories, Vol. 11, 2003, No. 3, pp 75-106, 2001
One can associate to any strict globular $\omega$-category three augmented simplicial nerves called the globular nerve, the branching and the merging semi-cubical nerves. If this strict globular $\omega$-category is freely generated by a precubical set, then the corresponding homology theories contain different informations about the geometry of the ...

A Simple and Fast Optical Clearing Method for Whole‐Mount Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (FISH) Imaging

open access: yesJournal of Biophotonics, EarlyView.
In this article, we present 3D‐LIMPID‐FISH: a simple and fast optical clearing method for acquiring 3D images of fluorescence in situ hybridization probes. Figures and movies are provided to showcase the technology, and a detailed protocol is provided to replicate the result.

Crossed Simplicial Group Categorical Nerves [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
We extend the notion of the nerve of a category for a small class of crossed simplicial groups, explicitly describing them using generators and relations. We do this by first considering a generalised bar construction of a group before looking at twisted versions of some of these nerves.

Sensory nerve conduction and somatosensory evoked potentials of the trigeminal nerve in horses with idiopathic headshaking.

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Internal Medicine, 2013
BACKGROUND Idiopathic headshaking (HSK) in horses is a distressing disorder in which the etiology and pathophysiology are unknown. HYPOTHESIS Differences in sensory function of the trigeminal nerve exist between healthy and affected horses.

Assessing the temporal profile and liking of sugar‐free spicy dark chocolates with different concentrations of Capsicum baccatum pepper and rebaudioside A

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, EarlyView.
Abstract Background As consumers growingly demand healthier confectionery products, sugar‐free chocolates with added spices become interesting options to align with the permissible indulgence trend. This study explored the temporal sensory profiles and consumer acceptance of spicy sugar‐free dark chocolates formulated with varying levels of ...

The Clinical Efficacy of High‐Voltage Long‐Duration Pulsed Radiofrequency Treatment in Pudendal Neuralgia: A Retrospective Study

open access: yesNeuromodulation: Technology at the Neural Interface, EarlyView., 2021
Abstract Background Patients with pudendal neuralgia (PN) experience long‐lasting chronic pain, hyperalgesia, and comorbid emotional disorders, such as depression and anxiety. Treatment via conventional pulsed radiofrequency (PRF) current carries a significantly high rate of failure.

Strongly Proximal Edelsbrunner-Harer Nerves in Voronoi Tessellations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
This paper introduces Edelsbrunner-Harer nerve in collections of Voronoi regions (called nucleus clusters) endowed with one or more proximity relations. The main results in this paper are that a maximal nucleus cluster (MNC) in a Voronoi Tessellation is a strongly proximal Edelsbrunner-Harer nerve, each MNC nerve and the union of the sets in the MNC ...

Identifying Cellular Immunodeficiency Through a Persistent Herpetic Whitlow

open access: yesJEADV Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Cutaneous infections caused by HSV are common, with the oral and genital mucosa being most frequently affected (1, 2). In individuals with immunodeficiency, HSV‐2 caused skin lesions may appear severe and unusual, or occur simultaneously with other skin diseases (3).
