Recombinant gamma interferon induces hypertriglyceridemia and inhibits post-heparin lipase activity in cancer patients. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
Animals suffering from malignancy or chronic infection develop characteristic metabolic abnormalities, including a well-defined hypertriglyceridemic state.

Behaviour influences cholesterol plasma levels in a pig model

open access: yesAnimal, 2007
Little is known about the relationship between feed intake behaviour and cholesterol levels in humans. This can be attributed to the fact that feed intake behaviour in humans is difficult to assess.

A Super‐Enhancer‐Driven Transcriptional Regulatory Circuit Underlying Abiraterone Resistance in Castration‐Resistant Prostate Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies a super‐enhancer‐driven transcriptional regulatory circuit comprising BCL6, SMAD3, and NFIB that cooperate to drive cholesterol synthesis via SREBF2/HMGCR/FDFT1 activation and regulate CDK2/CCND3 for cell cycle control. Targeting this circuit with BI‐3802 or downstream inhibitors (Fatostatin/Lovastatin) overcomes abiraterone ...

Pharmacologic management of triglycerides [PDF]

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, 1999
Currently available cholesterol-lowering pharmacologic agents have been studied for their effect on reducing triglyceride levels. The fibrates increase lipoprotein lipase activity, thereby decreasing the size of triglyceride-rich particles. High doses of niacin can produce decreases in very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) levels, triglyceride-rich ...

RPL6 Interacts with HMGCS1 to Stabilize HIF‐1α by Promoting Cholesterol Production in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study found that RPL6 is frequently upregulated in HCC tissues with extrahepatic metastasis. Elevated RPL6 bound to and increased the stability of HMGCS1 mRNA, thereby enhancing intracellular cholesterol levels. Subsequently, increased cholesterol promotes cancer metastasis in HCC by stabilizing HIF‐1α protein.

The TET3/GATA6 Axis Drives Lipid Metabolism and Therapeutic Vulnerabilities in Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The DNA demethylase TET3 drives lipid metabolic reprogramming in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma via a non‐catalytic mechanism. TET3 recruits histone deacetylases to repress GATA6, sustaining lipogenic enzyme expression and ferroptosis resistance.

Development of a novel method to determine very low density lipoprotein kinetics

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2007
Isotopic tracer methods of determining triglyceride-rich lipoprotein (TRL) kinetics are costly, time-consuming, and labor-intensive. This study aimed to develop a simpler and cost-effective method of obtaining TRL kinetic data, based on the fact that ...
