Human‐Centered Innovation: Precision Nutrition and the Future of Food

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Nutritional science is moving beyond one‐size‐fits‐all recommendations toward more precise and personalized approaches, yet its implementation pathway remains unclear. This paper proposes a human‐centered precision nutrition framework that highlights the central roles of artificial intelligence (AI), food innovation, and human agency.

Elevated plasma homocysteine in type 2 diabetes mellitus: a risk factor for cardiovascular diseases

open access: yesThe Pan African Medical Journal, 2012
INTRODUCTION: Elevated plasma total homocysteine (tHcy) concentration has been associated with an increased risk for cardiovascular events in type 2 diabetic individuals independent of conventional risk factors.

Hepatoma‐Derived Growth Factor Coordinates STAT3 Pathway and Exosome‐Mediated Intrahepatic Crosstalk to Control Hepatic Steatosis and MASLD

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hepatic HDGF as a key mediator in coordinating hepatic steatosis and intrahepatic crosstalk in MASLD. Activation of HDGF facilitates its interaction with both STAT3 and S6K1, driving the S6K1‐dependent STAT3 phosphorylation and subsequently enhancing hepatic lipogenesis.

Evaluation of the Triglyceride-Glucose Index with Different Generations of Beta-Adrenergic Blockers [PDF]

open access: yes
Background: Beta-blockers (β-blockers) work by blocking β-adrenergic receptors and differ in their metabolic effects and side effects. We aimed to compare the metabolic effects of different generations of β-blockers by evaluating the triglyceride-glucose

A Triple‐Nanoparticle System for Controlled Graphene Nanosheet Stacking: Enabling K/Na‐Ion Battery Anodes with Ultra‐Fast Charging Exceeding Petroleum Vehicle Refueling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Large‐ion (K, Na) battery systems mitigate uneven global lithium distribution, while their ability to attain recharge time shorter than refueling would remove the final barrier for secondary batteries to replace petroleum vehicles. However, their large‐ion chemistry makes ultra‐fast charging an even significant challenge.

Lipid Biomarkers for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology, 2019
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal degenerative disease primarily characterized by the selective loss of upper and lower motor neurons. To date, there is still an unmet need for robust and practical biomarkers that could estimate the risk of ...

Triglyceride-mimetic approaches for targeted drug delivery to the lymphatic system: a mechanistic study

open access: yes, 2017
The lymphatic system plays a number of roles in key physiological and pathological events, including propagation of the immune response, lipid transport and tumour metastases. Enhanced delivery of drugs to the lymphatic system therefore has the potential

Targeting Endogenous Lipophagy: A Novel Strategy to Enhance MSC Osteogenesis and Mineralization for Senile Osteoporosis Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Schematic representation of the role of lipophagy in bone mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs). In healthy MSCs, functional lipophagy efficiently degrades lipid droplets to support oxidative phosphorylation and cellular energy production, thereby facilitating osteogenic differentiation and matrix mineralization.

Relative contribution of triglyceride-rich lipoprotein particle size and number to plasma triglyceride concentration.

open access: yes, 1985
These studies were undertaken to determine whether differences in plasma triglyceride concentrations reflected differences in the number or in the size of the triglyceride-rich lipoprotein particles in the circulation.

Intestinal Source Control of Lipid Metabolism by Enzyme‐Probiotic Encapsulated, Spatiotemporal Crosslinked, and Small Intestine‐Adhesive Hydrogel Microspheres

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A thiol‐modified alginate hydrogel microsphere‐encapsulated enzyme‐probiotic biohybrid (AKK‐COD) system has been developed to address the spatiotemporal delivery and colonization challenges of small intestine‐targeted probiotic for lipid metabolism regulation. The system exerts sequential functions of intragastric protection, small intestinal adhesion,
