Agnuside Stabilizes the Complex I Assembly Factor NDUFAF6 to Reinforce Mitochondrial Efficiency and Thermogenic Responsiveness

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Brown and beige adipocytes dissipate energy as heat, yet effective strategies to enhance their mitochondrial efficiency remain limited. Here, we identify Agnuside (AGN) as a selective stabilizer of the complex I assembly factor NDUFAF6. AGN directly binds cytosolic NDUFAF6, suppresses its ubiquitination, prolongs its half‐life, and facilitates

Anethum graveolens and hyperlipidemia: A randomized clinical trial

open access: yesJournal of Research in Medical Sciences, 2014
Background: It has been established that hyperlipidemia increases the incidence and mortality associated with coronary heart disease. In this study, the effects of Dill (Anethum graveolens) were evaluated on lipid profile of hypercholesterolemic patients.

Sulforaphane inhibits hepatic steatosis in rats by down-regulating DGAT2 and ACAT1 expression

open access: yesDi-san junyi daxue xuebao, 2019
Objective To study the effects of sulforaphane (SFN) on the deposition of lipid droplets and the expression of their peripheral proteins in the liver and elucidate the mechanism by which SFN inhibits non-alcoholic fatty liver caused by high-fat diet ...

Triglyceride-Glucose Index is a Reliable Predictor of Metabolic Disorder in Gallstones [PDF]

open access: yes
Objective: The risk of gallstones is increased in fatty liver, overweight, and metabolic syndrome. The hyperinsulinemic-euglycemic clamp method is considered the best method for insulin resistance (IR); but it is a time consuming and expensive procedure.

ZDHHC9‐Mediated Palmitoylation of ACSL4 Drives Ferroptosis in Diabetes Mellitus–Induced Erectile Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Diabetes mellitus‐induced erectile dysfunction (DMED) is a highly prevalent complication among diabetic patients; however, its underlying pathogenic mechanisms remain incompletely understood. Metabolic disorder is a hallmark of diabetes, yet its precise contribution to DMED progression is not well defined.

Canagliflozin Alleviates Diabetic Glomerular Endothelial Injury via Melibiose in a Microbiota‐Dependent Manner

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Canagliflozin treatment reshapes the gut microbiota in DKD and elevates levels of melibiose, a metabolite derived from Roseburia intestinalis. Melibiose directly binds to and enhances the enzymatic activity of glyoxalase 1, leading to decreased methylglyoxal accumulation.

Studies on hepatotoxicity induced by chlorinated hydrocarbons. Lipid and ATP metabolisms in the liver of mice exposed to 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane

open access: yes, 1969
With a constant gas-exposure chamber newly devised, the author had Cb mice (females weighing 16.0 ± 1.5 g) inhale 600 ppm (in average) of 1, 1, 2, 2-tetrachloroethane for 3 hours.
