Polynomial and trigonometric splines

open access: yesCoRR, 2021
Classes of simple polynomial and simple trigonometric splines given by Fourier series are considered. It is shown that the class of simple trigonometric splines includes the class of simple polynomial splines. For some parameter values, the polynomial splines coincide with the trigonometric ones; this allows to transfer to such trigonometric splines ...

Bending and Free Vibration Analysis of Functionally Graded Plates via Optimized Non-polynomial Higher Order Theories [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied and Computational Mechanics, 2019
Optimization concept in the context of shear deformation theories was born for the development of accurate models to study the bending problem of structures. The present study seeks to extend such an approach to the dynamic analysis of plates.

Rearrangements of Trigonometric Series and Trigonometric Polynomials [PDF]

open access: yesReal Analysis Exchange, 2004
The paper is related to the following question of P.~L.~Ul'yanov: is it true that for any $2π$-periodic continuous function $f$ there is a uniformly convergent rearrangement of its trigonometric Fourier series? In particular, we give an affirmative answer if the absolute values of Fourier coefficients of $f$ decrease.

Examining the possibility of short-term prediction of traffic volume in smart city control systems with the use of regression models [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electronics and Telecommunications
This article deals with issues related to the optimization of traffic management in modern cities, the so-called Smart City. In particular, the article presents the process of evolution of the traffic flow prediction model at a selected crossroads in a ...

Weighted inequalities for generalized polynomials with doubling weights

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2017
Many weighted polynomial inequalities, such as the Bernstein, Marcinkiewicz, Schur, Remez, Nikolskii inequalities, with doubling weights were proved by Mastroianni and Totik for the case 1 ≤ p < ∞ $1 \leq p < \infty$ , and by Tamás Erdélyi for 0 < p ≤ 1 $

Reconstruction of integrated equations of periodically driven phase-locked loop system from scalar time series [PDF]

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений: Прикладная нелинейная динамика, 2022
Purpose of this work is to develop a reconstruction technique for the equations of a phase-locked loop system under periodic external driving from a scalar time series of one variable. Methods.

A quadratic trigonometric spline for curve modeling. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
An imperative curve modeling technique has been established with a view to its applications in various disciplines of science, engineering and design. It is a new spline method using piecewise quadratic trigonometric functions.

m-Isometric block Toeplitz operators

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2019
In this paper, we study m-isometric block Toeplitz operators with trigonometric symbols. In addition, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for block Toeplitz operators with trigonometric polynomial symbols to be m-contractive.

Polynomial-Exponential Bounds for Some Trigonometric and Hyperbolic Functions

open access: yesAxioms, 2021
Recent advances in mathematical inequalities suggest that bounds of polynomial-exponential-type are appropriate for evaluating key trigonometric functions.

Construction of Cubic Trigonometric Curves with an Application of Curve Modelling

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
This paper introduces new trigonometric basis functions (TBF) in polynomial and rational form with two shape parameters (SPs). Some classical characteristics, such as the partition of unity, positivity, symmetry, CHP, local control and invariance under ...
