A Unified Bi‐Objective Programming Framework for Active Power Optimization and Reactive Power Coordination of Electric Vehicles Integrated With Distribution Feeder Reconfiguration

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
Evaluation of the role of EVs as auxiliary sources in providing reactive power to the system; Development of an approach for dual‐objective programming of the combined problem of EVs and DSR reactive power coordination in the presence of DGs; A new mathematical formulation approach without the presence of trigonometric functions and without considering

Scene‐Driven Semantic Alignment for Generative Communication in Underwater Images

open access: yesIET Signal Processing, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Underwater images serve as one of the most intuitive media for human perception of underwater environments. However, the limited bandwidth and susceptibility to noise in underwater acoustic (UWA) channels pose significant challenges for traditional image encoding and transmission methods, thereby hindering high‐quality image reconstruction.

The Logistic Limiting Loop Hysteresis Model

open access: yesIET Science, Measurement &Technology, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This paper presents the L3P (logistic limiting loop proximity) model, which integrates the logistic function into the traditional L2P framework to represent hysteresis curves shifted from the central region. The model effectively captures logistic‐like behavior, a common dynamic in natural systems.

Enhancing hard X‐ray beamline performance at SwissFEL through spontaneous radiation measurements

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation, Volume 33, Issue 1, Page 32-43, January 2026.
Methods using spontaneous radiation to monitor and optimize the Aramis hard X‐ray beamline are presented, together with the eight‐year evolution of these improvements and the resulting record performance. The hard X‐ray beamline (Aramis) of the Swiss free‐electron laser (SwissFEL) has been in user operation since the end of 2017 and its performance has ...

PLETHORAs shape Arabidopsis phyllotaxis through modulation of patterning robustness and accelerated inflorescence development

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 249, Issue 1, Page 495-511, January 2026.
Summary Phyllotaxis is the arrangement of lateral organs on a stem axis, which in Arabidopsis follows a spiral pattern. We previously described that loss of three PLETHORA (PLT) transcription factors shifts the phyllotactic spiral to novel metastable patterns, but the mechanism behind these shifts remained unclear.

Linking the Ultraviolet Index to the “shadow rule” for sun protection: A theoretical model applied with a southern hemisphere example

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, Volume 102, Issue 1, Page 67-78, January/February 2026.
We demonstrate the potential utility of the shadow rule and how it may be understood in relation to the UV Index. The shadow rule indirectly determines the sun's altitude by observing the length of a person's shadow during the course of the day. When the shadow cast by the sun on a horizontal surface is shorter than the height of the person casting the
