Neuroprotective potential of trimetazidine against tramadol-induced neurotoxicity: role of PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathways

Toxicology Mechanisms and Methods, 2023
Tramadol (TRA) causes neurotoxicity whereas trimetazidine (TMZ) is neuroprotective. The potential involvement of the PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway in the neuroprotection of TMZ against TRA-induced neurotoxicity was evaluated.

Gentiopicroside enhances the protective effect of trimetazidine against myocardial ischemia‐reperfusion injury via the AMPK/NLRP3 inflammasome signaling

Journal of biochemical and molecular toxicology, 2023
Myocardial ischemia‐reperfusion injury (MI/R) leads to the inevitable clinical consequences of myocardial infarction and subsequent heart failure. Trimetazidine (TMZ), an anti‐ischemic agent, exerts protective potential in MI/R but had limited efficacy ...

Trimetazidine

Reactions Weekly, 2015
Coronary revascularization is not a suitable option for all patients with chronic stable angina (CSA) and, even when such a strategy is adopted, in conjunction with optimal medical therapy (OMT) as suggested by international guidelines, not all of them succeed to be symptom free.

Trimetazidine as indirect antioxidant

Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine, 2000
One-month therapy with trimetazidine sharply decreased the content of free radical oxidation products, lipid peroxides and malonic dialdehyde, in atherogenic low-density lipoproteins in patients with coronary heart disease. Activity of glutathione peroxidase utilizing lipid peroxides in the plasma markedly increased during trimetazidine therapy.

Beneficial effect of trimetazidine on folic acid‐induced acute kidney injury in mice: Role of HIF‐1α/HO‐1

Journal of biochemical and molecular toxicology, 2022
Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a complex syndrome associated with a decrease in renal function and a significant impact on patient outcomes. Injection of folic acid (FA) in mice is used for studying the pathogenesis of AKI.
