ASSESSMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS OF 1,3,5-TRINITROBENZENE
Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health, 1997The remedial investigation/feasibility studies conducted at certain Army installations showed a need to clean up contaminated sites, where high levels of ammunition chemicals such as 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT), 1,3,5-trinitrobenzene (TNB), 1,3-dinitrobenzene (DNB), and their degradation products/metabolites were detected in surface soil and ...

Journal of Molecular Structure: THEOCHEM, 2009
Abstract The electronic structure and thermodynamic properties of crystalline mono-amino-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene (MATB), 1,3-diamino-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene (DATB), and 1,3,5-triamino-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene (TATB) have been comparatively studied using density functional theory in the local density approximation.

Reaction of ammonia with trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid
Analytical Biochemistry, 1980Abstract 2,4,6-Trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid reacts stoichiometrically with ammonia in tetraborate buffer within 20 min at 35°C to give a compound (presumably picramide) with an absorbance macimum at 420 nm and ϵm 2.02 ± 0.07 × 104 m −1 cm−1 in the presence of 1.0 m m sulfite ions.

Crystal growth of trinitrobenzene and trinitrotoluene
Materials Research Bulletin, 1973Abstract Single crystals of 1,3,5-trinitrobenzene (TNB) and 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT) up to two centimeters in size were grown by the precipitant infusion method. Examination by an X-ray imaging method showed that the crystals, or substantial portions of them, are sufficiently perfect for many investigations.

Trifluoromethylation of 1,3,5-trinitrobenzene
Journal of Fluorine Chemistry, 1989Abstract The trifluoromethyl anion was trapped as Meisenheimer complex 2 on heating a mixture of potassium trifluoroacetate and 1,3,5-trinitrobenzene (TNB) in DMF or DMSO. Treatment of 2 with tert -butylhypochlorite afforded 1-trifluoromethyl-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene ( 3 ).

Polymorphism of 1,3,5‐Trinitrobenzene Induced by a Trisindane Additive
Angewandte Chemie, 2004The most stable is not necessarily the most easy to obtain! Two new stable crystal forms of the 120 year old compound sym-trinitrobenzene are reported. These elusive forms have been obtained by the use of an additive, trisindane, that can act as a mimic in the crystallization experiment.
