Trips and trade [PDF]

open access: possible, 2018
Politicians travel a lot, for various reasons. The types of trips to foreign countries range, for instance, from a formal, highly‐orchestrated, multi‐day visit to brief logistical stop‐overs, from the regular exchange of information during official talks in a working environment to ceremonial visits. This chapter reviews selected issues in the analysis

This essay examines how the production, consumption, and adaptation of Shange’s play impacts black feminist collectivity as a response to communal violence. In For Colored Girls, an adaptation, filmmaker Tyler Perry commercializes Shange’s work, translating the radical form of the choreopoem into melodrama and normalizing the story of violence against ...

Trips on trees

Acta Cybern., 1999
Summary: A trip is a triple \((g,u,v)\) where \(g\) is, in general, a graph and \(u\) and \(v\) are nodes of that graph. The trip is from \(u\) to \(v\) on the graph \(g\). For the special case that \(g\) is a tree (or even a string) we investigate ways of specifying and implementing sets of trips.

The TRIPS Project

Communications of the ACM
As early career researchers supported by modest grants from the National Science Foundation, we modeled the expected effects of semiconductor scaling trends on computer architectures and built compiler infrastructure to optimize for inevitable heterogeneity in computer architecture.

A Combined Trip Generation, Trip Distribution, Modal Split, and Trip Assignment Model

Transportation Science, 1988
Modeling of transportation systems must invariably balance behavioral richness and computational tractability. In this paper, we develop a transportation equilibrium model and an algorithm for the simultaneous prediction of trip generation, trip distribution, modal split, and trip assignment on large-scale networks.

Fuzzy Trip Distribution Models for Discretionary Trips

2008 11th International IEEE Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems, 2008
Trip distribution is considered as the second step in urban transportation planning. The important factors which affect trip distribution are the characteristics of origins and destinations and travel impedance between O/D. Trip distribution traditionally models with the deterministic variables although it seems affective variables in trip distribution

The Trip Scheduling Problem

Transportation Science, 2009
The hours of service (HOS) regulations of the department of transportation severely restrict the set of feasible driver schedules. So much so that establishing whether a sequence of full truckload transportation requests, each with a dispatch window at the origin, can feasibly be executed by a driver is no longer a matter of simple forward simulation.

A Nutritious Field Trip

Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior, 2007
A class trip to the local grocery store is an engaging way to reinforce a unit on nutrition as students make connections between a real-life experience and their classroom learning. Research shows that students often remember a field trip well into adulthood and even recall specific exhibits and facts.

TRIPS 3.0

2008
Abstract The TRIPS Agreement is entering its third phase. Phase I began with a well-documented push by the United States government to link intellectual property and trade rules in the World Trade Organization as part of the Uruguay Round of Multilateral Trade Negotiations, which ended in April 1994.
