Neutron research of the structure transition micelle to crystallites in liquid system D2O-tetradecyltrimethilammonium bromide-NaBr [PDF]

open access: yesЯдерна фізика та енергетика, 2010
Structure transition in triple liquid system D2O-tetradecyltrimethilammonium bromide-NaBr was studied by means of small-angle neutron scattering in a wide range of temperature, pressure and salt concentrations.

A thermodynamic description of metastable c-TiAlZrN coatings with triple spinodally decomposed domains [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mining and Metallurgy. Section B: Metallurgy, 2017
A critical thermodynamic assessment of the metastable c-TiAlZrN coatings, which are reported to spinodally decompose into triple domains, i.e., c-TiN, c-AlN, and c-ZrN, was performed via the CALculation of PHAse Diagram (CALPHAD) technique based

Circulating microRNA signatures of cachexia and cancer in Canis familiaris as a comparative oncology model for human disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating microRNAs as biomarkers of cachexia and sex‐specific cancer in senior dogs. In 25 client‐owned dogs, four circulating miRNAs (miR‐15a, miR‐15b, miR‐16, miR‐140) were downregulated in cachexia, with miR‐16 the strongest individual biomarker (AUC = 0.899).

Initiation mechanism of micro-defects in polycrystalline iron under high-temperature stress coupling effect

open access: yesMaterials & Design
To investigate the failure mechanism of high-temperature fracture in polycrystalline iron, this study conducted in-situ observation experiments to study the dynamic damage evolution process of iron under tensile loading at high temperatures.

Translating whole‐genome doubling into precision medicine in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Whole‐genome doubling creates a WGD‐positive tumor state characterized by persistent chromosomal instability, karyotypic diversification, and cellular stress. These same biological pressures drive aggressive tumor evolution while exposing therapeutic vulnerabilities, providing a rationale for WGD‐informed precision medicine. Whole‐genome doubling (WGD)

Kinetic description of intense beam propagation through a periodic focusing field for uniform phase-space density

open access: yesPhysical Review Special Topics. Accelerators and Beams, 2002
The Vlasov-Maxwell equations are used to investigate the nonlinear evolution of an intense sheet beam with distribution function f_{b}\(x,x^{′},s\) propagating through a periodic focusing lattice κ_{x}\(s+S\)=κ_{x}\(s\), where S=const is the lattice ...

Single‐cell DNA methylation profiling: Technologies, computation, and applications in precision oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell DNA methylation (scDNAme) profiling maps epimutational clonal evolution, revealing mechanisms of malignancy and therapeutic resistance across diverse cancer types. By providing a high‐resolution landscape of intratumoral heterogeneity, these technologies empower precise patient stratification, guide the development of enhanced ...

Synergistic creep strengthening by multi-component L12 and MC carbides in an additively manufactured hierarchical heterostructure

open access: yesMaterials Research Letters
An additively manufactured hierarchical triple-phase heterostructure, comprising a face-centred cubic (FCC) matrix, multi-component L12 precipitates, and nanoscale MC carbides, is engineered in a Ni-rich multi-component alloy through the composition ...

Targeting transcription factors associated with hemoglobinopathies: Lessons from successful interventions and implications for cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the transcription factors, repressive chromatin‐modifying complexes, and epigenetic mechanisms that control fetal hemoglobin repression. Notably, many regulators of γ‐globin silencing also function in transcriptional and epigenetic networks that drive cancer, highlighting opportunities to translate advances in hemoglobinopathy ...

Pharmacological chromatin remodeling enhances response to estrogen therapy in ER+ breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Estrogen therapy elicits clinical benefit in ~ 30% of patients with endocrine‐resistant estrogen receptor (ER)‐positive breast cancer. Based on findings that ER transcriptional activation underlies response to estrogen therapy, we tested the effects of epigenetic dysregulation via pharmacological inhibition of histone deacetylases (HDACi).
