Risk factors for screw migration after triple pelvic osteotomy

Journal of the American Animal Hospital Association, 2001
The objective of this retrospective study was to identify risk factors for screw migration after triple pelvic osteotomy (TPO) in clinical patients. The medical records, radiographs made immediately after surgery, and follow-up radiographs documenting a healed osteotomy were reviewed for 52 dogs treated with unilateral TPO and 38 dogs treated with ...

Anatomic basis of Tönnis’ triple pelvic osteotomy for acetabular dysplasia

Surgical and Radiologic Anatomy, 1998
Dysplasia of the hip in adults can be treated by a pelvic osteotomy. In order to assess pelvic anatomy in relation to surgical approach and osteotomy sites, 12 cadaver hips were studied. A triple pelvic osteotomy as described by Tönnis [6] through ilium, pubis and ischium was performed, followed by an intrapelvic and anterior and posterior dissection ...

[Tönnis and Kalchschmidt triple pelvic osteotomy].

Operative Orthopadie und Traumatologie, 2014
With three precise osteotomies it is possible to move the acetabulum to achieve sufficient coverage in dysplastic hips.Main indication is a painful dysplastic hip. Other acetabular pathologies, such as retroversion can also be addressed. In recent years young patients with Legg-Calve-Perthes diseasePatients with an arthrosis (Tönnis level 2) and ...

Single Anterior Incision Steel Triple Pelvic Osteotomy

2018
Untreated acetabular dysplasia is associated with deterioration of labral and chondral structures and the eventual development of osteoarthritis of the hip. The goals of surgical intervention are to relieve pain and to slow the progressive joint deterioration by stabilizing the hip.

[Tönnis and Kalchschmidt triple pelvic osteotomy].

Der Orthopade, 2017
The Tönnis and Kalchschmidt triple pelvic osteotomy (TPO) has been performed at the Klinikum Dortmund for more than 30 years. In more than 5000 cases the TPO has proven its potential to deal with even severe dysplastic hips. TPO can be easily combined with other hip procedures as intertrochanteric osteotomies and even impingement treatment can easily ...

A Modified Technique of the Triple Pelvic Osteotomy: Early Results

Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics, 1981
A modification of the triple pelvic osteotomy for children over 8 years and the young adult is described. The results of the first 32 cases are reviewed. These show that the indications for the operation can be widened so that not only primary dysplasias but also subluxated or dislocated hips with secondary dysplasia can be operated on successfully ...

Interlocking Triple Pelvic Osteotomy in Severe Legg-Calvé-Perthes Disease

Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics, 2002
The authors reviewed 21 patients who underwent triple pelvic osteotomy for severe Legg-Calvé-Perthes disease to evaluate their clinical, functional, and radiologic results. The mean age at presentation was 7 years 7 months (range 5-11 years). Seventeen hips were Herring group C and 5 were group B. All of them had "at risk" radiologic signs.

Advanced containment methods for Legg-Calvé-Perthes disease: triple pelvic osteotomy versus Chiari osteotomy

HIP International, 2017
Introduction: The goal of intervention in Legg-Calvé-Perthes disease (LCPD) is to prevent femoral head deformation by containing the head within the acetabulum. Currently, surgical containment methods are the mainstay of treatment, and pelvic osteotomies have been shown to be successful.
