Triplet absorption in carbon nanotubes: a TD-DFT study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We predict properties of triplet excited states in single-walled carbon nanotubes (CNTs) using a time-dependent density-functional theory (TD-DFT). We show that the lowest triplet state energy in CNTs to be about 0.2-0.3 eV lower than the lowest singlet states. Like in $\pi$-conjugated polymers, the lowest CNT triplets are spatially localized.

Spectrum of elementary and collective excitations in the dimerized S=1/2 Heisenberg chain with frustration

open access: yes, 1999
We have studied the low-energy excitation spectrum of a dimerized and frustrated antiferromagnetic Heisenberg chain. We use an analytic approach, based on a description of the excitations as triplets above a strong-coupling singlet ground state.

Bioorthogonal Engineering of Cellular Microenvironments Using Isonitrile Ligations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Highly selective chemistries are required for fabrication and post‐cross–linking modification of cell‐encapsulating hydrogels used in tissue engineering applications. Isonitrile ligation reactions represent a promising class of bioorthogonal chemistries for engineering hydrogel‐based cellular microenvironments. Isonitrile‐based hydrogels are stable and

Diagrammatic Exciton Basis Theory of the Photophysics of Pentacene Dimers [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physical Chemistry Letters, 2017, 8, 4468 - 4478, 2017
Covalently linked acene dimers are of interest as candidates for intramolecular singlet fission. We report many-electron calculations of the energies and wavefunctions of the optical singlets, the lowest triplet exciton and the triplet-triplet biexciton, as well as the final states of excited state absorptions from these states in a family of phenyl ...

Spin-orbital entanglement and the breakdown of singlets and triplets in Sr2RuO4 revealed by spin- and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy.

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2014
Spin-orbit coupling has been conjectured to play a key role in the low-energy electronic structure of Sr2RuO4. By using circularly polarized light combined with spin- and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy, we directly measure the value of the ...

5,11‐Di(thiophen‐2‐yl)Tetracene: A Novel Tetracene Derivative for Efficient Singlet Fission with Enhanced Physical and Chemical Stability in Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, a new tetracene derivative, 5,11‐di(thiophen‐2‐yl)tetracene (2T‐Tc) is introduced, exhibiting enhanced physical and chemical stability, and retaining favorable singlet fission kinetics with near unity triplet pair yield in thin films.

VAGINAL DELIVERY OF THE TRIPLETS

open access: yesJournal of Nepal Medical Association, 2003
The spontaneous conception & delivery of triplets occurs in 1: 6889 births. Most of the literature recommends caesarean section for triplets for better perinatal outcome of especially second and third baby, however, we describe vaginally delivered ...

Free Triplets versus Bound Triplet-Triplet Biexciton in Intramolecular Singlet Fission Materials: Structure-Property Correlations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Recent advances in singlet-fission research make it imperative that structure-property correlations that determine optical signatures of the triplet-triplet spin biexciton as well as its binding energy be understood precisely. We report many-body calculations of excited state absorptions from the triplet exciton and the triplet-triplet biexciton from ...

Spectroelectrochemical Determination of Förster Radii for Triplet‐Polaron Quenching in Phosphorescent Organic Light‐Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Phosphorescent OLEDs suffer from efficiency roll‐off due to triplet‐polaron quenching (TPQ). This study demonstrates for a large set of host‐guest combinations a spectroelectrochemical method to measure the absorption of charged molecules, enabling determining TPQ Förster radii (2.5–4 nm) from the spectral overlap.
